"Jason and his team installed recessed lighting throughout my home and rewired my kitchen during a renovation. They were on time and worked efficiently. Cleaned up after themselves too! They didn't leave dust and debris everywhere. Very impressed and will hire again."

"The service turned out fine. It was a lot more money than I thought it was going to be. The Big Deal was for $69, but I ended up paying a total of $527. I personally did not realize that electricians were so much money. The service was provided within a few weeks after I purchased the Big Deal. The service was completed within an hour or two hours maybe. He was not here long. The guy that came was very nice and he cleaned up all his mess. He explained everything he was going to do. Actually, it was going to be more than that, but I told him that that was way too much money. So, that is how we lowered it to five hundred and something. I have not had any issues with the ceiling fan or the work they did for me. It has nothing to do with the price; it is still the workmanship and the job itself. For the workmanship, I would use them again. For the price, I would not use them again, but I would consider using them again for a different type of job. The guy was really good. It was just too expensive."

"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."

"Great! Derek was neat, friendly, professional, and got to almost everything on my list. He would have blown through the list easily if not for a very troublesome light fixture. I've already started my second list. Derek, I'll be in touch soon! Many thanks. It's so good to be rid of all the boxes.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Cold weather can cause older incandescent Christmas lights to fail by causing cracks in the finish or the glass itself. Modern LED lights are affected in the opposite way and perform even better as the temperature drops.

Testing tools, such as Christmas light testers, non-contact proximity electrical testers, and multimeters, all simplify the process of testing Christmas lights. However, without one or more of those tools, testing Christmas lights the old-fashioned way only works sometimes. Without testing tools, the simplest testing method is visual inspection, which may or may not yield positive results.

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

Between seasons, inspect cords for damage, replace burnt-out bulbs, and clean lighting fixtures to prevent dirt buildup. Proper storage in cool, dry conditions will extend the lights' lifespan and minimize repairs or replacements when redeployed.

If you’ve gone through the troubleshooting checklist for your motion detector flood light and it’s still not working, it’s time to consider a new one. Older models that need frequent fixes can be unreliable. Newer flood lights feature advanced technology that improves your lights’ sensitivity and overall performance. If you’re fed up with unexpected darkness, investing in a new light can give you the lighting you need to feel secure.
