"Amerigutter is the best. I live in Westport and and my first experience with them was about 15 years ago.to install new gutters on an addition. Very professional and great service. I have since moved and they redid the gutters here which were in need of repair. Again, great service for a very reasonable price. Brad follows up and guarantees his work. I highly recommend Amerigutter!"

"Super happy with their response time, work done and price charged! Wish I could give them 10 stars! The other company tried to sell me on a new gutter system and all I needed was for a few repairs in some places, not the entire gutter system.. will not hesitate to hire or refer them again"

"We put a request for a gutter replacement on Angie. With in minutes D &M Home Improvements called us. He made appointment for next day to see the job. He was running late on a job and he notified us, he was coming late. He did not try to up sell. He gave honest opinion of what the job entailed. We set day for work to be done. "Great work overall but had a few issues: 1) installer fell through ceiling, requiring ceiling sheet rock to be replaced. Took a couple of weeks for them to do it and never told us it would take the guy 3 days to complete. We had to take 3 days off work (loss of income; no work, no pay) which went uncompensated. 2) Informed Jeremy skylight was a special size no longer made. Told me not to worry about it after coming back to re-measure. On roofing day, sure enough, skylight didn’t fit and a custom one had to be ordered, requiring another unpaid day off to allow for installation. 3) to hide the imperfections from the skylight installation, they put in several border boards that don’t match color scheme but are also unevenly installed, requiring me to have to fix it. Other than this, the job was done right aside from a few left over nails. Fabio and the installation team were very efficient and did good work."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

The gutter gauge is a measurement of the thickness of the gutter material. If you have gutters that are too thick and heavy for the screws and brackets holding them in place, they may sag. Materials that are too thin could suffer damage that leads to sagging. A professional gutter installer can ensure you have the right gutter gauge.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

How you stop water from leaking between your gutters and fascia depends on the cause of the leak. Some leaks can be fixed simply by cleaning out clogged gutters or downspouts. Other leaks require you to seal holes or cracks in your gutters. Meanwhile, some leaks are a structural issue that requires replacing, changing, or adjusting your gutter system.

If you don't repair your home’s gutter leaks, water or the gutters themselves can damage your home’s siding, roofing, foundation, and landscaping. Untreated leaks encourage mildew, mold, and rot, depending on the type of siding material. The foundation, chimney, window frames, and drywall can also crack over time, leading to costly repairs.

Gutter repairs typically cost between $150 and $600. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the extent of the damage, the gutter material type, the accessibility of the damaged area, and the amount of labor required for the fix.
