Everyone that sees it points out all the little things he thought of and did. James is nothing like other contractors. He is responsive, on time and on budget. A hard working craftsman that has a great eye for detail, and the skill to bring it off. James successfully replaced old rotted wood soffit returns with composite materials which required a high level of improvisation and skill to make it all fit on old construction. I had substancial water damage to exterior clapboard siding as well as interior sheathing and studs. James was thorough, repairing, removing and replacing all damaged materials as well as adding extra flashing to prevent future damage. I booked Bernard Contruction a couple of months out from when their schedule would allow for my job. They arrived when they said they would, kept to the originally quoted price and kept me updated about what they found and what their plans were to fix it throughout the process. I have some renovation plans for the future and will 100% contact James Bernard.

I hired James to fix what looked like rotted cedar shingles. He found major structural damage due to water seepage and repaired everything so it was water tight again and structurally sound. He was a real stand out from the usual home repair people that seem to come my way extremely professional, showed up on time, excellent communicator, and very fair price.

I read all reviews before I contacted anyone- James came with stellar reviews! I called after hours thinking I'd get a machine and he picked right up. I planned ahead, so I asked James for a month out and we stayed in touch. He came, set up, and repaired everything I asked him(replaced windows, corner boards, dormers, doors, and everything was done exceeding my expectations! He was personable, professional, and cleaned up as he went along. His estimate from the month before stood a month later! He does everything with care.I will certainly be calling James and Bernard Construction again. Construction again!!

He responded to my messages quickly and came out to give us a quote the next day. It was a small job that just took part of a day, but he made sure to fit us in before starting up a longer-term project the following week, which would have made it impossible for him to get back to us for several weeks.

James came right out and identified the problem with the roof leak and sealed it up. Also, we're talking about doing a couple of inside improvements over the winter.

James from Bernard Construction did a great job fixing the gate to our fence a few days after Christmas. He called me back, told me the price, showed up when he say he was going to show up and did the job in about an hour, he's the one of few contractors I would recommend.

James and his crew of 2 men powerwashed and stained my log home with extreme care and quality. The professional approach was clearly evident in their work. I recommend Bernard Construction for a similar type job, and I will use Bernard Construction for future washing and stainings of my home. My only concern was a lack of clarity in the estimate with materials. This may have been my fault, but moving forward I know to ask who is covering additional material needs if the original estimate of materials is short.
