"I have now had 4 pickups from this company. Each time it has been with different items: I have had my kitchen remodeled, a deck torn down and rebuilt, a new roof put on, old fencing disc arded, and a yard cleanup. The only difference in pricing was for the roofing and even though ti was more money it was STILL CHEAPER than a dumpster!!! I don't know how these guys do it, but they pickup on time, without issue andfor the cost quoted. I have turned each of my contractors onto them - now they are using them. SO MUCH cheaper and better service than any dumpster company I have used!"
"The installers Aaron, Angle, Michaela and others worked diligently to its completion. I give Dennis Diffley & Sons an A+ recommendation. I would hire them again."
"Paul was incredibly professional. He gave me a very competitive quote and completed the job just as he said he would. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone in the area looking for tank repair and replacement."
"I have been hiring Brian and Justin for years for drain clearing services at several rental properties that I own. I have hired them dozens of times for many types of jobs and they are always responsive, professional and, most importantly, they do a great job."
"All three jobs went great. For the water heater replacement Lewis came to my house at a convenient time for me, removed the heater changed out the rotted pipes and installed a new one with warranty. The price was great too. This job was time sensitive and he made me a priority to get it done. For the bathroom tub drain unclog he was very professional and did a great job. My garbage disposal was leaking and I came home to a pool of water in my cabinet and on the floor. Lewis came out quickly to resolve the issue for me. He replaced everything under the sink and showed me what he was doing each step of the way. I think that he is a great plumber if you want to get quality work and learn about each job too."
"It was a very positive experience. Dave responded to my inquiry within 2 minutes and came on a Sunday, within 4 hours of the phone call. The situation was very much under control the whole time, as Dave brought with him everything that the project required, including a replacement pump. He was professional and efficient, and the work space was clean after the installation was complete. I would recommend Dave and will likely call on him again for future projects of this type.
"I am an architectural designer that works mostly with residential clients on renovations and additions. I am ALWAYS being asked for referrals for General Contractors and having a few reliable, trustworthy & qualified companies that I can feel good about recommending is crucial. While craftsmanship is usually first and foremost in hiring a builder, there are always complications on projects, and sometimes it’s how a GC handles these complications that is the true testament to their value as a team member. McKinley & Barron check all these boxes for me and I always feel safe recommending them! They are also great guys that clients enjoy working with!"
"Derek was punctual, courteous, determined and patient. Everything went "as expected" while he installed the mount to the wall, but when it came time to actually putting the tv onto the mount, he ran into a bit of a "snag". I know this sounds like a simple task, but removing the tv stand from the tv was probably the hardest part of the install. There was no obvious way to remove the stand, so after several minutes of both Derek and my brother-in-law doing everything conceivable to remove it, they asked if I still had the manual. Of course I couldn't find it (even after almost 20 minutes of searching) but I did find the box (which had the model number on it). So Derek took to the internet. He searched the entire directory of the company to find out how to remove the stand from a decades old tv. It was so old that he had to go into the company's archives to discover that in order to get to where the stand was attached to the tv, 3 layers of coverings had to be removed. I am sure that this install took Derek much longer than he had bargained for, yet he remained pleasant and professional the entire time. **When I first purchased this Big Deal, I figured the price to be a fair price based on the time and labor I thought the install probably would require. But considering all the time that Derek was there and all of the effort he put in to ensuring I was a happy customer, I now rate both the price and the entire experience as EXCELLENT. "
"Roland is the consummate professional. His work was done extremely well and on time as promised. He helped us with other repairs that saved us considerable expense.I would hire him again without question."
Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts
Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.
These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.
Whether it's worth repairing your garbage disposal depends on its age and the specific problem. Generally, if the unit is eight years old or younger, repair is a good option. For minor issues like a bad seal or a simple jam, a repair can be inexpensive, sometimes under $10. However, if the motor is broken (a repair that can cost $150 or more) or the unit is getting old, it's often more cost-effective to replace the entire disposal.
There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.
The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.
