"I had a total of five doors installed. A set of French doors, three bifolds and a bedroom door. A few of them were custom sizes that needed to be trimmed out. Rick did an excellent job. He is conscientious and has a great attention to details. I will be getting him to do our front door also."

"I got a screen door for my front and back doors. They were great. When my back screen door leaked during a thunderstorm, someone from Grayboyes responded the next day to fix the problem. When we had a problem with the lock on the front door screen door, again Grayboyes responded promptly. I am happy with their service."

Customers say: Quick response

"This company is amazing, and for a new homeowner like myself it is a great number to have handy. I called Mr. Trinh and left a detail message of the problem with my porch which was in bad shape. Within an hour he was at my door with an estimate! He was able to fix the very next day and on time, he went out of his way to explain all of my options and pricing making sure I had the best service. The job required adding additional support to the foundation which he did quickly and without a problem. This company is truly profession! My porch is amazing now. I am exteremly satisfied!"

"Richard was very responsive in returning calls and scheduling work. One item that I wanted done was to have a door which sticks adjusted so it didn't stick. It was actually a little worse after he left but with some consistency in the weather, it doesn't stick as much any more."

Doors questions, answered by experts

The typical time it takes to replace a patio door is between three and five hours. That time frame includes the removal of the old door and completing any necessary repairs before installing the door. However, the project could take up to a full day, depending on the door’s design and the surrounding wall structure.

Yes, but adding a deadbolt to some door materials, like steel, may make installation a little bit trickier. For these materials, you will want to hire a locksmith to do the work for you, but be aware that they may charge an additional fee of $25 to $50 or more.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.

You can use any wood to make an interior door, provided it’s the right thickness. Common options for painted doors include pine or poplar for the stiles, rails, and mullions, and paint-grade plywood for the panels. You can also opt to make your own panels out of pine or poplar if you intend on staining the door instead. Opting for oak, maple, or another hardwood is another great option for a high-end door that will last for decades, but the wood will cost significantly more.

Most of the interior doors in your home are the same size. For example, most bedroom doors may be the same size. However, your closet doors might be the same size as each other but are a different size from the bedroom doors. You might also have bedroom closet doors that are a different size from hallway closet doors. It’s best to be safe and measure any door you want to replace.
