Our primary objective at William McClay Contracting is total client satisfaction. We achieve this goal by providing our clients with quality workmanship and on-time projects at very competitive prices. William McClay Contracting is a fully bonded company located in Boothwyn, PA and has over 20 years of experience in a wide range of construction related services and projects. We take great pride in our workmanship and professionalism . We give 100 % attention to all our projects no matter how big or small. Many contractors can pour concrete, but few can successfully manage the entire construction process and the nuances important to owners, including all commitments to: cost control, safety, scheduling and making the process as easy as possible. Our experience with these processes pulls from years of customer service success, and we are interested in what matters most to your building project

"The owner William McClay was very personable and nice at first. He was hired to repair my front steps (all brick) and to repair a wobbly railing. William required a check or cash payment, which should have been a red flag. Once he had the payment he began to dodge my calls and left the work incomplete. I had to stop payment on the check to get him to complete the work. The final project left me with mortar smeared all across the steps and walkway and a railing that still is not secured. I would not hire this vendor again this was a terrible experience."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Whether it’s more affordable to gut a house than build a new one depends on the markets where you'd be buying and selling. However, it’s usually less expensive to renovate a home than to build new construction.

Most homeowners pay between $100,000 and $200,000 for demolition and remodeling costs, whereas the average cost to build a new home is between $139,000 and $531,300.

Complex plumbing is tricky and expensive in an off-the-ground dwelling like this. By considering options like composting toilets, rainwater collection, and gray-water sinks, you save money and help the environment.

No, tiny houses don’t have to have wheels. However, if you plan on traveling with your tiny house and want to use it as a transportation method, it’s a good idea to buy a tiny house with wheels or put wheels on one. If you plan to stay put and live full-time in your tiny house, wheels aren’t necessary.

Due to the expansion of the tiny house movement, you can usually find tiny houses to buy in your state. Prices range considerably based on size, style, and type. If you’re looking for a tiny home that’s move-in ready, you may be able to find a good deal to buy or a prefab dealer near you.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.
