"Steve Pontius made several concrete repairs to my porches. He replaced the wooden steps on my back porch. He also did several smaller jobs and checked my rain gutters. He cleaned, sanded and painted railings with a high quality paint. Steve has integrity and does a great job for a fair price. I will surely hire Steve Pontius Landscaping and Repairs in the future for additional projects to be done around my home!"

"Very professional job stairs were done to code I was also impressed with their solution for a post coming down in a parking lot. They put it at an angle into the building with a go plate at the bottom, anchoring it in my hand fence came out gorgeous. They were timely and very clean about the job I appreciate their work. The job was well done."

"I really needed this work done as soon as possible b/c I couldn't continue with other work until this was completed.
I called Bogdan and he got back to me right away and came the next day (a Saturday) to give me an estimate.  He told me he could have someone come and do the patching and he would do the electrical.  Mike came on Monday night, after an already full day of work, right on time and worked until 9pm.  He came each day exactly when he said he would be there and did such a wonderful job.  The patching of the ceiling was truly perfection.  You would never know there was ever a wall between these two rooms or a door in one of them.   Bogdan came after the drywall work was done and finished the electrical work exactly as asked.
Mike cleaned up every night, was very personable and refused to let me help him with anything.  This was the first time I ever hired help with any construction project and I couldn't be happier with the who I chose.   The price was exactly as estimated and more than fair.  I will definitely be calling them again if I ever need any other work done.
Feel confident calling SB Improvements.  They are truly a great company who do amazing and very meticulous work.

"They were fast, showed up when they were supposed to, completed it on time at the price they quoted me for, and very pleasant to work with. I didn't get a lot of quotes but I thought it was a fair deal and they were good!"
Front view of the covered wrap around porch, with white porch railings and columns. The lattice work below the porch helps to give a backdrop for the shrubbery.
Exterior view of the in-progress attached garage addition build. As you can see, the necessary siding was removed from the existing home so we could attach the garage build.
Overall view of the newly constructed back deck, which leads to the now covered patio area, via the spiral staircase.
Front view of the log cabin entry room addition highlights the stunning front door with dual sidelights.
Back view shows how much the new build towers above the existing one-story homes in the neighborhood.

"SO many great things to say! Conscientious, courteous, always on time, open communication and respectful of my home. Presented options on many aspects of the project to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. After dealing with some very inadequate work, what a relief it is to have found the Red Rooster team. Our bathroom could not have come out better! Meticulous attention to detail! Would recommend them to anyone!!!"

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

While building a treehouse isn’t necessarily a death sentence, damaging the trunk is one of the ways to kill a tree. If you’re concerned about the tree, opt for a treehouse support system rather than attaching it directly to the trunk. This may involve using bolts and brackets to affix the structure to the tree's branches or establishing a standalone support system that remains unattached to the tree.

Yes, barndominiums are designed to withstand strong weather and severe storms if they are built properly by trained professionals. Most barndominiums are made up of a steel structure that can protect a building from winds of up to 150 miles per hour and resist a variety of weather conditions without a major risk of structural damage to the exterior, foundation, or frame.

Whether you should choose a flat roof or a sloped roof depends on your particular situation. Flat roofs tend to be less expensive to install. However, sloped roofs have longer lifespans and stand up better to heavy snow and other inclement weather.

Keep in mind that even a flat roof needs to have a slight slope, usually around 1/2 inch for every foot. If it is completely flat, water will pool and cause damage, either from weight or leakage or rot.

Rather than using a common two-by-four piece of wood for a rafter, you probably will use two-by-six, two-by-eight, two-by-ten, or even two-by-twelve boards. Wider lumber is typically a better choice in a larger building as it provides more sturdiness. Some installers may use wider lumber for rafters near the edges of the roof, where the greatest stress occurs, and save money with narrower lumber toward the middle.

The difference between a pole barn and a stick-built barn is in the construction. Large poles in the ground provide support for pole barns. For stick-built barns, 2-by-4 or 2-by-6 lumber (known as sticks) create a frame around load-bearing beams. Stick-built construction is far more popular for residential homes. Pole barns are more cost-effective because they require fewer materials and less labor.
