"Dan is an incredible guy and did great work for us. We had one tree that needed trimming and one that needed removed. Dan came by to cut one tree back away from our power lines for safety before they could get out to do the full job. He was always responsive and kind and had prices that literally could not be beat by anyone else. He is now my go-to for any work of this kind and I will recommend him to anyone. I am so glad I met him and had an opportunity to utilize his services and support his business. If you have trees in need, donâ t hesitate to give Dan a call!"

"Excellent, the crew was respectful of the property and the neighbors. The neighbors had them do some trimming on their sides of the property while they were there and I'm appreciative of how well they cleaned everything up. Even went above and beyond and did some other lawn cleanup that wasn't related while there!"

"Jackson was amazing to work with. His prices were fair and he accomplished the work quickly and without any delays. He replaced our mulch with stone and finished our path. It looks amazing! We will definitely call him for our next project."

"He dug up the outdoor wiring in the ground. I only had half my power I had no heat, hot water or stove. Earth was rock/clay hard and he did it with a pick and shovel. Dug under 3 sidewalks and also was careful not to disturb other pipes and wirings including my neighbors. It took a week and a half. Weather was starting to get cold as well and he worked non stop. I finally got my power and he cleaned up the yard so good. Excellent worker and a pleasant person as well. His price was good. I am 73 and needed my heat and stove and water. I was using an elctric heater during this time. I am so greatful that he was so dedicated to his work."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Aim to have your trees inspected and pruned in early spring. At this point in the year, tree service professionals can note where there is old growth from winter and cut that back to encourage new growth for the rest of the year. Pruning at the wrong time of the year could make your trees prone to diseases.

If a tree stump is removed properly, the chances of a tree growing back are low. However, if a tree has a robust root system, roots can sometimes sprout and someday grow into a tree. The chance of regrowth will depend on several factors such as the type of tree, soil quality, and strength of the root system. In general, it is not recommended to plant a tree where a stump was removed.

You can trim just one side of the tree, especially when that side is growing near something like a power line or a home. Pros will carefully trim the tree back until it is safe from that structure. While this is common, it also needs to be done with the utmost care, as pruning or trimming away at one side of the tree may make it structurally unsound. This instance is yet another where hiring a pro is wise, especially if power lines are involved.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.
