"I called All Done Cleaning and Services in a panic. We came up from NJ, 3 days before classes started, to move my son into an apartment on Beaver Ave. The place was so filthy there was no way I was going to let my son live there without it being professionally cleaned. The kitchen was filthy, the bathrooms had mold growing in them and the carpets and floors were sticky and stained. There was dust everywhere and it smelled horrible. Fruit flies were all over the kitchen. Short on time, I started calling cleaning services that were recommended by the apartment's management. I called four of them and was getting frustrated when I couldn't get an answer on a Friday afternoon. Only one ever returned my call and it was 4 days later. Finally, after a google search, I found All Done Cleaning on the Home Advisor website. I called and left a message and within 5 minutes I had a call back from the owner on his cell phone. I explained the situation and he told me he was all booked for the following day but he could meet me at 5:30pm and give me an estimate. He met us promptly at 5:30 and his estimate was very reasonable. Seeing how upset I was he even offered to come back at 7:30pm to clean. He told us the entire job will take 3-4 hours. He brought in a team which consisted of himself and 2 other people. They cleaned until almost 1am. They steam cleaned all of the rugs, deep cleaned the kitchen including the microwave and oven, deep cleaned both bathrooms and dusted all the windowsills, furniture and blinds. I was extremely satisfied with their service and would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, hardworking cleaning team."

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar can remove poop stains. How long the poop sits on your carpet will determine how many rounds of solution you’ll need and the length per round. One round should be enough if you’re dealing with a fresh stain, but more stubborn stains might require longer rounds. If you prefer a more effective way to remove dog poop, consider an enzyme cleaner that can break down both stains and odor.

Yes, some carpet stains can be permanent. Stains that have been sitting for a long time (weeks, months, or years) are much harder to remove because they have had time to dry and set. Other types that may be permanent include oil-based stains and dye stains. While some cleaners can help, they can also risk dyeing or permanently changing the carpet's color. If you have an old stain and are unsure of the cause, it's best to call a carpet cleaning professional. If DIY methods and professional cleaning fail, you may need to replace that section of carpet or learn to live with the stain.

No, you shouldn’t let dog diarrhea dry before cleaning it. While cleaning the stain when it's dried sounds less messy, it can cause more harm than good. Old stains have a chance to dry into your carpet, and the smell can go deeper into the fibers. This makes removing old dog poop more of a headache to clean than dealing with diarrhea while it’s fresh.

Depending on your type of carpet, a wet/dry vacuum is a great final step to removing blood stains, but it will only help after you’ve used another method to pull out the bulk of the stain. A good option is to use a wet cleaning method, then apply baking soda to the stain, and then follow that by vacuuming thoroughly. Remember that this vacuum type does not work on all carpet types. Wool can shrink with this method, so always check the cleaning instructions from your carpet’s manufacturer.

There aren’t health dangers to sleeping in a room where the carpet was just cleaned. In some cases, strong-scented detergents may trigger allergies in sensitive people, but otherwise there’s not much to worry about.

A greater concern is walking across damp carpet, which is undesirable. To air out the room and help the carpet dry, it’s a good idea to stay off the floors for about 24 hours if possible. If you’re cleaning carpets in the bedroom, you may want to make alternative sleeping plans.
