"he did a decent job, but the spindles were installed with nails and only one nail in each support, should have used deck screws ( two each for better support, nails will come loose after a couple years, had to redo spindles by adding decking screws on all spindles"

Latex paint dries faster at around 1 hour, and acrylic paint is even quicker, usually drying in about 30 minutes. If rain is in the forecast, check the paint manufacturer's details before laying on a new coat.
