Softwashing is actual cleaning. We use biodegradable products to remove bacteria, mold, moss and dirt. Time, sunlight and rain make things grow. We love when they grow in our yards but not so much on and in our houses. For the exterior of your house you could grab a pressure washer and some all purpose cleaner, get a ladder and spend the weekend. One problem, pressure washing actually doesn't do anything more than push the dirt around and shave the top off of the organisms that are growing on your house.

"My house came out perfectly and I'm very happy with the end product, wouldn't anybody else but you guys again"

"Tom and his guys are great. He is the absolute best and knows someone to get anything you need done. This is a family business and he is a man with a heart of gold. He goes the extra mile to get the job done right and he is fair with pricing. I had to move away, but if I were still in Philly, I would hire him every time. He helped me with a new roof, some landscaping, they replaced a beam in the basement that had termite damage, and he was even able to subcontract out to have a new furnace and A/C unit installed."

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

A good psi for a general-use pressure washer is 2,000 to 3,000 psi. Some surfaces will require a softer touch, such as a cedar deck, which should be washed at the lowest setting, but heavier-duty jobs like removing stubborn stains from your driveway will need pressure at the higher end.

No. In spite of its identical chemical makeup, sodium bicarbonate manufactured for blasting purposes has a particular type and size of particles that differs from grocery store baking soda. In addition, this method would not be cost effective because you would need several boxes of baking soda to equal one blast-sized bag of medium.

Costs depend on surface material, level of grime, accessibility, labor, and required cleaning agents.

Much like wood siding, it can be dangerous to use a pressure washer on composite siding. While normally durable, composite siding isn’t made to stand up to higher pressure settings. It also makes it very easy to damage the paint or finish on the siding. Some professional power washing companies may take the job on, but we recommend avoiding it, especially as a DIY project with a rented pressure washer.

Experts agree that spring and fall are the best times to pressure wash a home’s exterior due to the mild weather. Line up a pressure washing project once every year, anywhere from March to November, for the best results. This will vary by location, but aim for a warm, dry season, whenever that may be in your climate.
