"The roofing specialists of J. Parker Construction did a terrific job installing the flashing on my roof. They were professional and a pleasure to work with. James Parker evaluated the area of the water leak in my laundry area and traced the problem to my roof flashing. He and his crew were throughly professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. I recommend and will be sure to call James in the future when I have a suitable project."

"I needed a new roof to satisfy the Insurance company (my existing roof was 28 years old). Called Home Run Roofing at 5pm on Monday, scheduled the rep for the next morning. Thorough inspection of all roofing components, discussed price, color etc. They happened to have a cancellation on Friday (today). The work crew arrived and quickly dispatched the old roof, had the barriers in place, ridge vent installed shingles placed and total cleanup of the site by just after 2pm. Amazing! This was a great experience with Home Run roofing from start to finish. I will be working with them again to replace my windows for sure! The roof is beautiful!"

Customers say: True professional

"The Main Roof and Porch roof job went very well, JZM explained what they were going to do, what it would cost, and dates we both agreed on. When the job was completed they cleaned up, and left me pictures of my old roof and my new roof. They did an outstanding job. I would hire them again, and recommend them to other friends and my neighbors. Thank you JZM Roofing."

"Flat-Roof, Torch-Down Granulated Roll roof : Customer Review of Roof Replacement by Cover All Exteriors, of Bensalem, PA. || I like the roof work done by Cover All Exteriors, LLC on my award winning Torch-Down Granulated Roll roof system for my nearly flat roof. Roofing is complicated, and I appreciate the quality inspections done during installation, as they managed their installation team. Cover All Exteriors kept their word and made sure I was completely happy with their work. It could not have been completed better. Their installation staff really knew how to install a roof with ever detail taken care of. I?d recommend Cover All Exteriors, from Bensalem to any one who wants a company that can get it done the way it should be, with great Customer Service, that included 10-yer Roof Warrantee, 3-Years Free Annual Maintenance plus 1-Time Warrantee transfer to a new owner. This was my experience 2025-Nov 13, installation; I hope it will be yours. Sincerely, Vern."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Sometimes chimney caps blow off during storms or fall off after rusting away. While this typically won’t cause structural damage, failing to replace a chimney cap can. A chimney cap prevents moisture, animals, and debris from entering your chimney, all of which can cause serious problems, such as damage to the masonry or blockages in the flue.

You shouldn’t put a new roof underlayment over an old one for a few reasons. Old felt must be removed in order to assess the condition of your roof decking, such as rotting wood or other structural issues. Also, if your roofer doesn't install a fresh layer of felt as is required by shingle manufacturers, your warranty may be voided. Finally, old underlayment removal is often included in the cost of roof repair or replacement, so there's no real benefit to leaving it on before installing a new layer.

You should avoid choosing a metal roof if your home has a weak structural support system, as metal roofs can be heavier than roofs made of other materials. If you're in a region prone to frequent hailstorms or high winds, you also need to be aware that denting may occur.

The most common slope, or roof pitch, for a shed is 4:12 or four inches of height for every horizontal foot. For areas that experience heavy snow loads, a steeper roof of 6:12 or 9:12 is best.

If a roof is not vented, trapped air and moisture have nowhere to go and will cause moisture to build up in the attic. When moisture builds up, it can cause mold and mildew, leaks, and rot. It will make the space hot and stuffy, which can result in higher energy bills as the HVAC system works overtime to regulate the temperature.
