Paul Ritschel Construction ManagementWe discussed what I wanted done and Paul wrote a detailed estimate. DO ask questions. DO ask him about the quality of any material you are considering. After choosing the new flooring, Paul and his partner arrived (on time!) and they moved the furniture from one room at a time, removed the old laminate or carpet and checked the subfloor. One section had rotted and needed replacement. They put down smooth luan, then installed the planks, fitting them together after cutting so that a pattern was made in the floor. They cleaned as they worked and removed the old flooring by truck. They moved all the furniture back. This entire project took two days. Then Paul returned to finish detail work at the door frames and thresholds. He handmade and stained a real Maple fireplace border to match the vinyl planking. I am so glad to have found him. He is now rebuilding my 20 year old oak entertainment center so I can use it under a wall-mounted TV.- Mary D.

We called late sat afternoon and he walked my husband thur testing certain outlets and then had him go back in basement to turn off and on circuit and finally it worked. My husband was not turning it all the way off. I can not thank Phil enough for his freely given time and advice. This is a very honest man.

Bogdan has done work for us during the last several years, from installing an attic fan, a bathroom fan and vent, roof repair, vinyl siding repair, interior painting, to most recently installing a beam over a covered deck to level a sagging roof. Bogdan has consistently done excellent work, always seeking to do the best job that can be done. He is also patient and very polite. My elderly mother with whom I live also thinks very highly of him. In addition to the work that he has already done for his, we have talked with him of doing additional work for us.

We have used Praefke Construction a few times in our home. Him and his helper are really great. The job is done well, the price is fair, and they clean as they go. They are very friendly and trustworthy. I have a list of home repairs, and I will call them to do all of them.

We asked our realtor for a “pit bull” inspector and she recommended this company. We were present with the inspector and asked a lot of questions and listened intently to his concerns and observations. We left feeling like we had some issues but nothing major. Well, after settlement it became clear that the inspector missed a huge carpenter ant infestation that damaged the entire back of the house including walls and beams. He missed leaking windows and pipes that had cause mold and mildew damage in two separate areas of the house. He missed several areas of roof damage and a decaying rotting exterior chime to structure. When I pointed to the ceiling and said is that brown spot a leak he said no, that’s just a missed paint spot! We made settlement after what we thought was a good inspection report. It turns out that we had to spend tens of thousands of dollars on critical repairs that the inspector missed or assured us were minor. The roof and window leaks were severe. The carpenter ant infestation was critical. Needless to say we were very angry and extremely disappointed that these things got missed and we got misled. We would not recommend this inspector to others.
