"After dealing with roto rooter and Losch plumbing with very bad experiences. Thank God for finding Once & Done. Very professional crew, they did a great job in installing the new sump pump that we definitely needed. Jeff was very honest and nice and explained everything that had to be done in detail. Highly recommend."

"Drytech contacted me about my inquiry for a drain system in my driveway. We set up a date and time. The company called the day before â to confirm the time. The representative arrived on time. We discussed the issues w/ my driveway, and my concerns. After discussions he told me that I probably did not need a drain system. While he did not complete any work for based (because of his honesty) I was impressed with his questions, the time he spent with me and how pleasant he was. He left me his card and informed me what issues to look for."

"Really professional and friendly, were able to complet the work way faster than I expected and showed up on time, and finished a day early. I'm very happy and as they were able to fix structural issues as well as put in a french drain at the same time, they took a lot of heartache out of the organisation. The crew were skilled and experienced and happy to share project knowledge. I'm recommending them to my neighbour."

"Team is professional, estimate was accurate, they are very conscious of explaining the work as they go and they work clean. The owners take great pride in doing good work with products that do the job. They considered not only drain installation but the overall site to ensure landscaping and drainage would help keep the basement dry. I would highly recommend this team for basement waterproofing work."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Pouring drain cleaner down a vent pipe isn’t recommended. First of all, unlike a clog in a sink or bath caused by such material as soap scum build-up, toothpaste, and hair, clogs in a vent pipe are likely the result of debris from trees or even an animal stuck in the pipe. Drain cleaners won’t be able to eat through this kind of material. The cleaner will only become clogged in the vent with the debris, causing even more problems.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

You can often unclog a garbage disposal in less than 10 minutes, though sometimes you might need longer if you’re unsure what’s causing the clog. For minor clogs, consider plunging the drain, flushing the drain with baking soda and vinegar, or using an Allen wrench to free the clog. If the clog is more severe, contact a local plumber.

A clogged sewer line is not typically covered by homeowner’s insurance, though some sewer line issues are covered. For instance, damage related to a fallen tree is usually covered. Though sewer line replacement is not covered in a standard insurance policy, some companies offer add-ons for this purpose. Read the fine print before spending your own money.

There are several steps you can take to prevent your AC drain from clogging. This includes cleaning the drain line at least every three months, changing the filter every one to three months, and getting your AC serviced annually. Also, if any problems arise with your AC, hire an HVAC technician to deal with them ASAP.
