"Sales professional was great! Installers did a great job as well! I live in a wooded area, so cleaning gutters is a must 2X a year. The roof is high and angled making self cleaning hazardous. I felt the investment was well worth it for peace of mind 120 total sq ft gutter filter added"

"Roof replacement went well. Work was done well and quickly. Was disappointed with the amount of nails and debris left behind. Sliding glass door install went well and was done quickly. Siding was delayed by bad weather, of no fault of contractor. I'm not sure if downspout and exposed walls would have been addressed in advance of rain had I not questioned it. While location of downspouts was an improvement and looked nice, the work resulted in a clogged pipe that I had to address. Representative performing estimate was very helpful and we were impressed with the selection and samples to choose from. Happy with warranty, at this point, for material and workmanship. Owner was easy to get ahold of and responsive. Company was eager to work in my neighborhood and work began within weeks of estimate.

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

If you don't want to install gutter guards, the most common and inexpensive alternative is regular gutter cleaning, either annually, biannually, or as soon as they start to fill up. Using a leaf blower attachment can make this process easier. Other products designed to reduce cleanings include gutter screens (made of wire mesh, nylon, or foam), which are typically less expensive than a full gutter guard installation. You can also find guards and inserts designed specifically to protect your downspouts or opt for a whole gutter system like LeafGuard, which integrates the gutter and guard into a single product.

How you stop water from leaking between your gutters and fascia depends on the cause of the leak. Some leaks can be fixed simply by cleaning out clogged gutters or downspouts. Other leaks require you to seal holes or cracks in your gutters. Meanwhile, some leaks are a structural issue that requires replacing, changing, or adjusting your gutter system.

Gutters should not drip at the seams. This problem could indicate that water is collecting in the gutters instead of moving to the downspouts. You could have leaves or other debris blocking the flow of water at the seams. Try cleaning the gutters, adjusting the slope, and sealing any holes or cracks in the material to fix this problem.
