"THE JOB---remove 2 40-50 ft silver maples with 3 ft diameter trunks. Trees were between the house and fences. Remove all debris and rake area clean. Kevin and crew arrived daily and on time. They worked steady even through the rain showers. Stump grinding by Brad Wadsworth was completed on tree 1 while tree 2 was being cut. Both companies worked together and efficiently, completing the job on time with no injuries or accidents. The house and fences were unmarked. Clean up was excellent. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STILE TREE SERVICE LLC."
"The owner and crew are excellent! Prompt, friendly, great tree removal, stump grinding and clean-up! Great experience with them! Would highly recommend!"
"Excellent work at a fair price. Punctual and professional. Respectful of property and requests. Most people will stop reading at this point, but I suggest you continue for a brief example of how qenuine Ryan is. While he was here doing the job, I was helping an elderly neighbor remove a fallen tree from their yard when the tire on my pull behind lawn cart blew. Not only did Ryan offer to help me fix the cart but he helped me unload and stack the wood free of charge and still finished the job on schedule. A true stand up young man."
"This is the second time I used Randy's Tree Service. They once again did a great job, were very neat and completed work as promised. Would highly recommend, very professional and easy to work with!"
"Few tree cutting services climb any more, this company is owned by the climber so you won’t get gouged for expensive equipment or the extra cost of need to hire a climber! Great work!"
"Courteous and explained procedure clearly. Made an extra effort to clean up wood chips and raked out soil and other wood shavings to leave a flat surface. Would highly recommend this company."
Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.
Pruning a tree is a yearly DIY job that involves removing small dead branches, leaves, and blooms to help the tree grow bigger and stronger. You can often complete the job with basic home gardening tools. Trimming a tree, however, removes larger sections to control the direction the tree grows in and protects your home, utility wires, and yard from potentially dangerous branches.
Tree removal can be quite expensive, especially for larger projects, but you can use the following tips to help keep costs down:
Do the yard cleanup afterward yourself
Choose to leave the logs on your property and split them yourself
Opt to leave the stump in the ground and tackle stump grinding yourself
Pull permits for tree removal, if necessary, to avoid fines
Pay to have multiple trees removed at once
Remove tree in the late winter or early spring during off-season
The cost of professional tree service, such as trimming, is $460 on average, but the price can range from $75 to $1,800. A more typical range is between $200 and $760. The final price depends on several factors, including the size and type of the tree. For example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees costs an average of $80 to $400, while giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800. Other factors that influence the cost include the time of year, as services are often more expensive in the spring. Your location can also play a role; costs may be higher if you live in a remote area or if the tree is difficult to access. However, some professionals may offer a discount if you have multiple trees that need service.
Horticulturist is a broad term for any type of plant and soil expert. An arborist, meanwhile, specializes in all aspects of tree care. You should hire an arborist when you need assistance with tree-related tasks, such as pruning large trees, removing trees, diagnosing a sick tree, or emergency tree services. Horticulturists aren’t qualified to handle those types of tasks.
