"The company represented to be competent and experienced at bathroom remodeling however the worker, Joel was not able to complete the job efficiently. He installed a shower liner over a shower body which he had improperly installed which caused leaks and a situation where we had to break through a wall to get to the improperly installed shower body to fix it. We supplied the materials including the shower body which he did not use but instead left the old one in which doesn’t quite fit with the new shower handle. The toilet was loose and crooked also not sealed on the bottom as per code. When I pointed out to the worker that he had caused a leak, water was pouring into my basement he attempted to charge me an additional $100 to fix his own mistake. The tiles were not properly spaced so some were too close to receive the black grout that we had intended to distribute over the whole tiling project, it remains unevenly grouted. With the uneven spacing it is impossible to grout properly. Overall a disaster of a job, most of the work he did had to be redone."

"WARNING!! DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!! Jonathan J. Berghold/Platinum Kitchens is a player a THEIF a manipulator and a well rehearsed LIAR. He will show up promptly for an estimate and the down payment. He will tell you what you want to hear about your cabinets. He will promise you it will take a week to refinish your kitchen cabinets and nothing could be further than the truth. He will NOT SHOW UP when he indicates!! He will tell you excuse after excuse about the progress of your cabinets in his workshop ( my husband needed to visit him several times to check his work only to discover our cabinets where NOT sanded and ready to go the next day) His work quality was quite poor (cabinets were not properly cleaned , drip marks when he did paint, he sanded against the grain).Doors that were sanded were poorly or incompletely sanded. The workers he sent over spent more times on their phones than out cabinets or showed up with only a roll of tape and needed to leave for several hours to find a sander. Only 25 hours of work was completed within a 3 week time period. He continuously left us waiting for him to arrive at our house despite his many txts saying he was coming over to work that day. He disappeared for a week. We waited too long to fire him and gave him too many chances. My husband needed to retrieve the cabinet doors and drawers from his workshop after we figured out he wasn’t really going to finish our job. Upon retrieving the doors we discovered several doors somehow DISAPPEARED. Only when I threatened to file a police report did our missing doors reappear. My disable husband put in many hours cleaning, sanding and painting to cover our financial loss of $1500. We now need to find a new contractor to complete the job while we live in chaotic non-usable kitchen for the next month."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

No, termites don’t eat bamboo flooring like they do hardwood flooring. That’s because bamboo is a hardy grass that is naturally resistant to many pests, including termites. If you’re concerned about termites or other pests that could damage your floors, you can achieve a look similar to hardwood without the stress of pests by installing bamboo flooring.

The most affordable kitchen flooring option is sheet vinyl due to its low material and installation costs, followed by laminate flooring and vinyl planks. Be sure to get quotes from flooring companies in your area for exact estimates for your kitchen floor. If you let them know that you’re looking for kitchen floor ideas on a budget, they can suggest products and materials within your price range.

Many doorways feature two door jambs. These are installed on both sides of a doorway to prevent the door from swinging too far. Door jambs usually stop the door at 180 degrees when closed.  A doorway floor transition sits between the door jambs on the floor, helping to create a safer and more aesthetically pleasing transition from one flooring type to the next.

Start by removing any debris, nails, or staples left behind from the old carpet. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, consider using an adhesive remover or scraper to lift it off gently. You can also use a sander. Finally, wipe down the subfloor using a damp rag to ensure all remaining dirt and residue is gone.

Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present.

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.
