"I had an emergency generator installed and one of the installers did not Install the gas line properly. After some calls and some back and forth, I get a call from customer service manager and she got someone out and took care of it family fast. The leak was still there and when they came out the second time discovered it was a new leak from the gas company changing out my meter. So the second leak was not the fault of this company. Their work on the generator and install was good, the customer service could use a bit of tweeking but overall I would definitely recommend."
"They relocated an electrical outlet for my dryer, installed a ceiling light fixture and wall switch and investigated a flickering outdoor fixture. They did good work and were very professional."
"The team rewired 2 floors with old knob and tube and added some outlets in my 1929 home. The also installed a new over the range microwave with ventilation to the outside of my home. The crew was punctual and helpful. They communicated with me throughout the job, accommodated extra adds on I requested, and they were very clean. The work was done well and done on time. The price was more than reasonable. I would definitely call pricelight again!"
"They came on time. They knew what they were doing. They were neat , fast and friendly. They fully tested the installation, and it worked the first time."
"I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Warren. He responded immediately to the request and was able to install the receptacle without any issues. Thank you again!"
"They are a great company to use. Very prompt service, friendly, courteous, efficient. They called me the day that I submitted my request and set up a time. I was informed about when they were going to arrive. The technicians were very friendly and informative. The job was done quickly and efficiently. The office people were also very good and helpful. I will use and recommend them in the future."

Sizing a generator is a careful process that requires calculating the electrical load of your entire house. You have to take into account every device you want to use and their wattage requirements, plus the wattage needed to start them, and look for a generator that can safely run all that at around 80% capacity.
In more practical terms, a small home can run on a 10,000-watt generator (and if you only want to power a few key appliances, much less than that). A mid-sized home may need something between 15,000 and 22,000 watts. Larger homes require 25,000 watts or more.
While diesel is relatively stable, it won’t last nearly as long as propane and you may have to replace it if it sits unused for too long. Diesel can sometimes struggle to work efficiently or start engines during especially cold weather, so it’s not the best choice for every climate. Compared to fuels like propane and natural gas, diesel generators tend to be noisier and create more exhaust, which isn’t always ideal for home use.
Natural gas generators are designed to run for extended periods of time, such as power outages during a natural disaster. Since there’s no limit to the supply of natural gas, they don’t need to stop for refills. However, generators do need maintenance, including pauses to check and add oil. Constantly running them will also cause a lot more wear and tear, leading to a shorter lifespan.
Generally, you’ll want to keep between 60 and 70 feet between the generator and the transfer switch. There are a few reasons for this, including:
The distance reduces the noise coming from the generator into your home.
It increases efficiency because you won’t have a voltage drop from this short of a distance.
Prevents carbon monoxide poisoning: keep at least 15 feet between your generator and an open window.
Natural gas and electricity rates vary significantly based on location, and pricing can change over time, too. It’s possible that in locations where natural gas is particularly inexpensive, it will cost less than grid-based electricity will. However, you should also factor in the generator’s initial costs and maintenance needs, as well as its noise level and if it can comfortably power all your home appliances.
