"Ben and his crews are absolutely fantastic!!! Always on time, phenomenal work - fair pricing and always on top of things. Twice, because of weather restrictions during the week, they actually came and took care of my yard on Holidays (Mother’s Day & Easter). The landscaping they do is always first rate and they never cut corners…..6 Stars…if that’s an actual rating. Hire Them!!!!!"

"Rowdy was quick to answer our request for an estimate to pave our driveway. Our project was on property we own one hour from Pittsburgh, Pa. and with no utilities. He met with me on a Sunday, gave his estimate and could do the job on Tuesday. We accepted his estimate and the job was completed on Tuesday. The crew was professional and efficient. We can not be more satisfied with the overall outcome of their work. I would highly recommend their company and would use them again."

"Please don't confuse these guys with B&M paving. I made a mistake and called to complain about B&M and ended up having a great convo with the owner of P&M and gave them a job happily. P&M = GREAT. B&M = Just awful"

"Prompt courteous service; GREAT value for the money paid. Had another contractor install my driveway and did a really bad job - Green Valley came in and made the repairs and seal coated it. I've already told them I'm bringing them back next year. Highly recommended!!! 5 Stars across the board"

"Rowdy from R Williams Paving contacted me after I did a search on HomeAdvisor. He came to my home and gave me a great estimate the next day. He then said that they were finishing a job nearby so he could fit me in the next day. I agreed and he brought his crew out promptly the next morning. They quickly took away the old driveway and paved it. It looks great. After they completed the work, they did a thorough job of cleaning up. Rowdy and his crew were easy to work with, friendly, respectful, and accommodating. I recommend R Williams Paving for your next Asphalt Paving job."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

The ideal distance between stepping stones depends on your design preference. A general rule is to place them about 24 inches apart from center to center to match an average person's stride. Another common approach is to leave about 6 inches of space between the edges of each stone; this can be adjusted to fit the path's total length without cutting pavers. If you plan to plant between the stones, leave at least 6 to 8 inches of space to give the plants room to grow.

If you wish to break up a cracked or broken paver for removal, you can use a hammer or mallet and a chisel to fragment the paver. As you’re working, be careful not to disturb surrounding pavers; the key is to work slowly and steadily and remove the broken pieces gently. You should also wear a mask and goggles to ensure that no dust gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth as you work.

An example of permeable paving is a set of cinder blocks or natural stone pavers with room inside for natural materials, such as gravel, sand, or grass. You can also design these pavers with brick or plastic tiles.

In addition to these pavers, permeable pavement can be obtained by using a highly porous material, such as pervious concrete or pervious asphalt.

To ensure you hire a reliable and experienced paving company, you should start by finding companies in your area that have at least five to ten years of experience working in your neighborhood. Next, rule out companies with poor reviews online or a series of complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. Since driveways affect your curb appeal, you should also ask each company for references and pictures of recent work to make sure the work the company does is professional and high quality. Finally, check that the company is licensed and insured.

The best ways to increase the lifespan of your driveway are to carry out proper maintenance and get repairs done quickly. First, reseal your driveway every one to three years to protect it from the elements. If you start to notice significant cracks, hire a professional to diagnose the problem before it gets more serious. You can also use sand instead of salt when de-icing your driveway (since salt is corrosive) and clean your driveway annually using a pressure washer to keep it in tip-top shape.
