Customers say: Quality work
14 years of experience

As a premiere home improvement contractor in Central Pa, we have been fulfilling our clients needs since we started. We offer professional replacement services for select products. Our core services are: Roofing, Siding, Decks, Window, Doors, Kitchens, Baths and Solar. Feel free to browse through our website and see what we can do, see what our customers say about us or call to schedule a free estimate.

"The installation of the solar panels, inverters and the battery went well. I signed the contract in July of 2022, install was in December of 2022, and went online in early 2023. The system has functioned properly. The bad side is the customer service. When I signed the contract, I paid extra to have them trim a tree that was shading part of the panel setup. That was July of 2022, it's not October of 2023 and they still have not done it. Despite several follow ups, I have gotten nowhere. I would not recommend."

"I requested proposals through Angies List and within 15 minutes I got a call from William. William does not really have a listing on Angies List, but he is listed through their affiliate Home Advisor, which sent him my job request. He was just finishing a job not far from where we live and was able to come out the same day and perform the work. He explained everything. Showed me the nails that were used to secure the ridge vent and the special screw type fasteners he replaced them with. He showed me the flimsy boot the builder had used to seal the vent pipe and the much bigger and heavier one he replaced it with. I am having him come back in a few days to replace the boot on the other vent pipe. I liked how William explained what was involved in replacing the boot around the vent pipe. The new boot needed to be installed under the shingles. He was able to back the roofing nails out without damaging the shingles and to reuse the existing 40 year rated shingles. He not only carried the roofing nails and fasteners in his truck, but boots for several different diameters of vent pipe and shingles in a number different colors just in case he couldn't reuse the existing shingles. William came directly from another job, but had everything he needed in his truck. William is very personable, friendly and professional. Considering that he had to drive to and from our house, set up a ladder and safety equipment, climb up on the roof to work, and provide the boot and fasteners sealants, etc., clean up, and then prepare the billing and process the payment, I think his fee was very fair."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinyl siding can be installed over existing materials in some cases, assuming the underlying structure is sound and the installation will not cause moisture issues.

Wood clapboard siding needs frequent sealing to keep it in top condition—likely every two to three years. A sealant helps protect it from both moisture and sunlight damage. Your weather and climate will affect how often you need to seal the siding, but the pros recommend sealing it every couple of years. More durable woods in milder climates may not need to be sealed quite as often.

The cheapest and most inexpensive way to side a house is to use vinyl. Vinyl is very low-cost but may not last as long as natural materials or metal. However, it often lasts the same length of time the owners plan on living in the home (about 20 to 40 years). Certain types of vinyl siding, like vinyl shake, can be as low as $3 per square foot, but ask a siding pro if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your particular home.

The clapboard exposure, also called the reveal, refers to the amount of clapboard visible in the siding. Clapboards always overlap slightly, but some overlap more than others. The exposure is the vertical measurement of the board that remains visible as the clapboard is installed.

When repairing clapboard siding, it’s important that you match the exposure of your current clapboards. You may want to take a measurement of the specific exposure on your siding for reference in repairs.

The lifespan of vertical siding depends on the type of material used and whether it’s properly maintained. For instance, vinyl siding can last between 20 and 30 years, while fiber cement siding can last up to 50 years. Remember that the type you choose will depend on how much maintenance it will require to prolong its longevity.
