"Brutally honest and kind of embarrassing for me but this was my experience. I leave it as a buyer beware type of thing. Brady and brother and father did an amazing job although he was supposed to take down two accidental trees and told me the charge for that was part of why the estimate was high. He ended up cutting the trees to their stump but made some excuses as to why it wasn’t possible to take the stumps. He didn’t reduce my charge though. BUT, he was a no call no show to two appointments and late for the rest of them, a total of 5-7 times. Not only was this unprofessional but I had 2 fur babies that went poo outside in the backyard so .. I would make sure the yard was free of poo and close the doggie door making them stay inside. He either wouldn’t call and just show up a lot later then he told me or he’d call and say he’d be here soon, after being really late, which btw after I complained he told me that he worked for himself so was never late. Then I’d rush to let my dogs go to the bathroom and lock them in AGAIN. So one time I missed a fresh pile of poo, after making my senior dogs wait for hours without being able to go outside. He started working then stopped after 5 minutes texting me that he couldn’t mow because there was poo in the yard. Also, he bought my late husbands dirt bike and trailer, both pristine. The trailer was packed with a full toolbox and a pressure washer and all kinds of accessories. He knew what it was worth but I didn’t. Here’s the embarrassing part. I let him get away with buying everything for about $3000.00 less than I would have gotten from a fair person. If I were knowledgeable, not in mourning, smarter than, I would never have let him take anything much less let him come back after treating us so haphazardly."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

Sometimes, pulling nutgrass can cause it to spread. If you do not discard the plant and rhizomes, the nutlets attached to the roots may each sprout. However, if you pull nutgrass repeatedly over the course of several weeks and discard the plant each time, it will weaken the plant significantly, eventually leading to its disappearance.

Depending on the lawn treatments, the best times of the year to redo your lawn are between mid-August and mid-September for overseeding and renovation treatments. For areas such as the southern United States, lawn aeration works best during the fall, when the temperatures begin to drop. Otherwise, early spring is your next best bet because the grass is fresh and ready to absorb nutrients, and the temperature isn’t hot enough to fry the grass and the renovation materials.

Quack grass is a perennial plant that will continue returning yearly until you eradicate it above and below ground.

Start your search for a good lawn care company by finding some landscapers in your area; it might be a good idea to research companies that already work on your block, as they’re more likely to be able to fit you into their schedules, given your proximity. Next, conduct a search online to see if they have positive customer reviews, and try to avoid companies that have poor scores or a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Finally, make sure to ask each company about pricing, contracts, scheduling, and any add-on services.

It’s not required, but it is helpful if your goal is to produce new growth. Any fertilization should occur after the lawn is aerated and before the compost is applied. If you also plan to spread seed, you’ll want to do so after the fertilizer is applied and once the ground is damp, but not wet.
