"Dan was quick to respond and show up to provide an estimate. He installed double hand rails up the steps to the front porch. He also took the time to walk around my house and secure a few areas of siding that needed attention. Not only did he do great work, Dan is a genuinely kind human with a big heart. I highly recommend Dan!"

"They knocked it out of the park. They were excellent, did everything they said they would do and more. There were a couple of small issues that came up and they took care of it. They opened up the pipes and didn't charge us for it. Even their price was excellent and we would highly recommend them. We would definitely hire them again."

"We were very pleased with the quality of work on our deck. The design and the flow of the deck met our wishes. The overall quality of work was exceptional and has been praised by friends and family. During the project the crew started early in the morning and continued throughout the day with little breaks. We found their services to be professional, clean, caring and accomodating. We will be using the same contractor for other projects this year."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The depth of the fence posts depends on the height of your fence. If you’re installing a 6-foot fence, then digging 2-foot-deep holes for the fence posts will help ensure a secure installation. However, if you’re installing an 8-foot fence, the posts will need to be deeper than 2 feet to support the structure properly. Also, consider how far apart the fence posts should be to provide adequate support.

Fences made out of redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated pine are the most durable. These materials can last anywhere between 15 to 40 years so long as they are properly maintained. Make sure to clean your fence regularly and pressure wash once a year. After pressure washing, apply a sealant and/or fresh paint to keep it looking fresh.

Typically, a fence requires one to two coats of stain. The exact number can vary depending on the porosity of the wood. For specific guidance, it's best to check the manufacturer's instructions. After applying the first coat and letting it dry completely, you can assess the finish. If it appears patchy, uneven, or you want a more saturated color, a second coat is recommended. An extra coat can also help cover lap marks.

As with any project or material, installing wrought iron fencing has advantages and disadvantages. Some pros and cons of this fence material include:

Pros

  • Long lifespan with proper maintenance

  • Very durable

  • Aesthetically pleasing

  • Functional as well as decorative

Cons

  • Requires regular maintenance and cleaning

  • Expensive compared to other fence materials

  • Limited privacy

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.
