"The business engages in shady billing practices. They say they mowed the lawn when the lawn did not need mowing at all. They say they did a "double cut" when the grass was barely 2 inches in height. A quick search online may recommend that you give your dog apple cider vinegar to help decrease the pH level of your dog’s urine. This method won’t help your yard, though. Most turf grasses thrive on slightly acidic soil, so apple cider vinegar won’t make much of a difference. 

The main cause of grass death by dog urine isn’t the pH level anyway—it’s usually the excessive amount of nitrogen that kills your grass.

Sulfur is a secondary nutrient that helps grass grow lush and green. It combines  primary nutrients including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Sulfur helps the grass absorb nutrients to create a lush, green appearance. While sulfur isn’t necessary for every lawn, it can help most lawns be stronger and greener.

Depending on the lawn treatments, the best times of the year to redo your lawn are between mid-August and mid-September for overseeding and renovation treatments. For areas such as the southern United States, lawn aeration works best during the fall, when the temperatures begin to drop. Otherwise, early spring is your next best bet because the grass is fresh and ready to absorb nutrients, and the temperature isn’t hot enough to fry the grass and the renovation materials.

You should water your lawn two or three days before putting down fertilizer to ensure it can properly absorb it. It's good to apply fertilizer if the ground is moist, but you want to avoid overwatering or flooding the area because it can prevent the grass from absorbing the nutrients. Consider weather conditions when scheduling your fertilizer treatment and read the instructions to see how long you should wait to water after application.
