"Rich and Lee did a fantastic job installing a 24K btu mini split system. They were polite and professional. We had a morning appointment and when an emergency came up they kept us updated as to their time frame. Although they arrived later than originally planned they stayed until the job was completed to our satisfaction. They thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, and we would highly recommend their services."

"Mr. Auman installed a kitchen faucet, replaced two toilets, and replaced old defective pipes under two bathroom lavs. He explained everything to me, and he handled lots of little details just the way I asked him to. Also, pleasant conversation. He phoned me the next day to make sure everything was working right. As a senior citizen, I appreciated all of the above."

"Had a relay burnout in the air handler on a Saturday causing the unit to run in a continuous heating mode. The only way to turn it off was to throw all the related circuit breakers. Jason skipped dinner with his family to analyze the problem and devise a workaround until a replacement part could be located and obtained. Once he had the part he quickly replaced it and inspected the remaining system to ensure everything was in proper working order. His price was much less than expected especially being called out on a weekend evening. He was pleasant, professional, and thorough. I will definitely use him for any future service and repair and highly recommend him."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

When your AC contactor goes bad, you might hear chattering or buzzing noises coming from your air conditioner. You may also notice that your AC is running but isn’t cooling your home. In some cases, your air conditioner might not even turn on at all. There could also be physical damage, discoloration, or corrosion around the contactor.

If your AC suddenly stops working, the first thing to check is your thermostat settings. Ensure the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature and mode (cooling). Sometimes, a simple adjustment or replacing the batteries in the thermostat can resolve the issue. If that’s not the issue, look to see if the circuit breaker tripped. These basic checks can often identify simple fixes before you need to call for professional assistance.

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

This is a bit of a trick question. Even though the seasons arrive at the same time every year, the weather doesn’t always behave according to the calendar. So, while it’s fair to say that you can expect to turn on your AC starting in late May or early June, it all depends on the outside temperature and how cool you like to keep your home.

Yes, it’s normal for an AC to drip water. In fact, it’s part of the dehumidifying process that takes place inside your AC unit as the condensation trickles down into the drain pan. However, it isn’t normal for your AC to sound like it’s running water or have large puddles around it. If that happens, you can try the solutions listed above or call an AC repair pro.
