"My driveway had a patchwork of remaining coal tar sealant. I elected a petroleum based sealer believing it would penetrate my asphalt driveway better. While the sealer appears to have done this, the sealer leaves a bright sheen where ever it was sprayed over the old coal tar patches. This has left a non-uniform appearance. In retrospect, I would have liked a more uniform, flat black appearance. The product may work better on driveways that don t have variations in previous asphalt sealant coatings."

If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway.
