"I was very happy with the work that was completed on my kitchen drawer. The gentleman was very professional and polite. He worked efficiently and did a very good job. I would recommend him to everyone. Thank you to him."
"The windows were manufactured earlier than we expected and we were promptly contacted about installation. Although we were told the installation was scheduled for two days, the four man crew that arrived was able to finish in a single day! Each window was installed with the same consistency in quality and efficiency. Furthermore, the crew did an excellent job protecting our floors and furnishings in every room. When it comes to evaluating the installation crew, we couldn't be happier. Regarding price, we probably paid more than we should, but that's on us. We advise getting several other quotes first and then get Castle's quote. This will definitely help in your negotiating. The windows have definitely helped to eliminate draftiness in our home and helped to maintain a consistent temperature."
"The man I talked to was very professional and timely. However, he explained that this particular job was beyond the scope of what their company does. I would certainly use them on another 'issue'. "
"I ordered the windows and patio door a few weeks ago from one of the Big Box stores. Steve Martin and Son were tasked by that Big Box store to do the installation. The Big Box store telephoned me yesterday to let me know that the installer would be contacting me to schedule an installation date and time. The installers telephoned me the same day, yesterday, and scheduled the installation for 8:30 am the next day, today. They showed up promptly on time, and the three of them went right to work. They were very efficient and respectful. They had all 9 original double-hung windows removed and their brand new replacement windows all installed by approximately noon. They removed the original sliding glass patio door, and boarded up the opening. A concrete contractor is replacing some of the concrete under the patio door opening, and then they will be back in a few days to complete the installation of the new sliding glass patio door. They completely cleaned up after themselves; and even stayed long enough to fully demonstrate to me exactly how the new windows open, lock, slide, and tilt in for cleaning. Very pleasant, professional, and cordial. "
"I had second story doors with failing balconies. Insurance required I replace the decks but Gino suggested removing the doors and replacing with windows in lieu of a more costly approach. I was threatened with insurance cancellation on a Monday. Gino spent a few hours on a Sunday to complete a temporary siding to allow my insurance to be satisfied and is to come back for me to remove the temporary work to complete it the right way so it is more aesthetically pleasing. I was relieved he went above and beyond to help my insurance issue, and he takes pride enough to want to come back and complete the siding the proper way. He also noticed other siding in need of replacement while up there. I am having them replace that as well next week. "

Estate shutters offer more energy efficiency, privacy, and light control than blinds. They provide better insulation against heat and cold, lowering your energy bills. They’re also sturdy, durable, and last much longer than blinds (up to 50 years or longer). They’re also low-maintenance and can add curb appeal to your home. The return on investment (ROI) for estate shutters is around 75%.
Wood is the most classic shutter material. Common options include pine, cedar, or brasswood. MDF shutters are also a more affordable option that retains the timeless, classic look. Composite shutters, mainly vinyl and aluminum shutters, have also become more popular over the years. You may also find steel shutters, sometimes referred to as security shutters, used on the exterior. Shutters also come in various colors and finishes, adding another layer of design flexibility.
Shutters are still very common in Southern, farmhouse, and traditional-style homes, especially those in warm climates who can benefit from the increased efficiency. While modern homes and designs tend to shy away from shutters, shutters are a timeless design style that will likely be around for decades to come.
The most popular estate shutter brands include Hunter Douglas, Budget Blinds®, and Graber®. Hunter Douglas shutters cost $20 to $26 per square foot and include high-quality hardwood and faux wood options. Budget Blinds shutters cost $20 to $24 per square foot, depending on if you choose natural wood or another material. Depending on the material, Graber shutters range from $18 to $24 per square foot.
The average shutter is designed to last 20 to 25 years. Proper maintenance for the type of shutters you have is essential for helping them reach their full potential.
