""Concrete Alternatives is the gold standard for service providers. Dan and Dave were a pleasure to deal with, and Chris did an outstanding job of leveling our walkway, thereby eliminating what was a tripping hazard. Chris was prompt, courteous and professional; he is a true artist in his field. We could not be happier with the results! We will definitely turn to Concrete Alternatives for any future project.""

"Groundworks did an excellent job for us. Everyone was so professional and we know we received quality work for a reasonable price. It has been over a year since our waterproofing project in the fall of 2023. At that time we had “nuisance leaks” in our basement but they were becoming more and more problematic. We hired Groundworks to waterproof our basement. The winter spring and especially the summer of 2024 were very wet where we live. We were so proud of our lovely dry basement. It is now the summer of 2025 with lots of rain but there have been no leaks since Groundworks completed our basement project. We are very happy with their work!"

"Contacted Mark and he quickly responded.  We quickly walked through mortgage application and he found a great rate with favorable terms.  Mark assisted us through the entire process, ensuring we were on schedule.  He even helped us find better hazards insurance rate than we found on our own.  Throughout the process, Mark was very responsive, always available and went the extra mile - often swinging by our house to drop off materials.  I would not hesitate to use Mark again.

"Mike, Matt and Glen were very eager and helpful to get our job done right. We were thankful for all their help on choosing the right materials for our project and for not being pushy or using some unscrupulous sales tactics. From the moment we decided to move forward the process went very quickly and painlessly. Luis and his men were the installers and they did an absolutely fabulous job. Their attention to detail was amazing. We are very happy with our decision to move forward with PA Certified Contractors. We appreciated everything!"

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

Mudjacking restores level surfaces, prevents further damage, and is more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Mudjacking is usually reserved for light-duty slabs, like patios, driveways, and sidewalks. However, it can be an effective way to lift garage slabs and concrete around the perimeter of the home, which could harm your foundation if it’s not done properly. The risk of damage is why having a professional mudjacking company carry out the work is important. This type of slab or foundation repair is relatively inexpensive, especially if you consider that a DIY job requires that you pay to rent the necessary equipment.

Concrete leveling is absolutely worth it if you have sunken concrete slabs and want to restore them to level, especially if the slab is part of your home foundation. Concrete leveling is less than half the price of replacing concrete sidewalks, patios, walkways, and pool decks, and it’s about a quarter of the cost of replacing a foundation. If you also treat the underlying problem, it can be a worthwhile and permanent solution.
