We are a family owned Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning business serving Washington, Greene, Fayette, Westmoreland & Allegheny Counties of Pennsylvania as well as Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel & Monongalia Counties of West Virginia. Residential, Commercial & Industrial Since 1909.

"Substantial amount of water was leaking from clogged pipe of the discharge from air conditioning unit inside home near bedrooms. First guy didn't fix it properly. Had to call them again. Two weeks after contacting this company someone else came and he was not even aware why he was sent to the location. We hope this latest unclogging will work. Terrible experience all around."

"In February I had a tech named Chad come to fix a squealing toilet. He insisted it wasn’t the fill valve but the inlet valve behind the toilet. When remounting the toilet he made ME, who just had open abdominal surgery help him remount the toilet! He flushes it 3 times, still squealing. He knows he hasn’t fixed the issue but still charges me and leaves. Like I said, I’m recovering from a major operation & this was a toilet in my rental unit located above my unit. I wasn’t renting it out at the time so I let it go for a few months bc you know recovering from illness and working 50 hours a week gets in the way. The part & work was supposedly under warranty for 1 year. I had another plumbing service cone and look at the squealing toilet. They replaced the fill valve. After 8 flushes- squealing again. Stays for another hour repeatedly flushing the toilet then leaves with problem not fixed. I go to my unit, HUGE hole in my ceiling. Clearly the toilet has been leaking every times it’s flushed and just sat in the floor/ceiling until it got too wet and the plaster gave away. Call roto rooter- they take 2 days to come and are no where in the time window. If I had a tennant at the time this would be an EMERGENCY but they take their sweet time. They come and replace the fill valve AGAIN. They admit Chad had no idea what he was doing. They said I would be refunded for the damage, lost money from not being able to rent it, and the original call. In comes the arrogant Ozie Soarks. He will ONLY send some third party restoration company to “fix the damage”. This third party company is even more rude and stupid than roto rooter and wants to rip up my place, leave it dry for 2 weeks, then only patch the hole. According to the two companies my insurance company sent out, they said the floor of the bathroom was also shot and needed repaired. So I had to use the insurance company Incase there were future issues, if this claim wasn’t followed through I’ll be liable for all future issues since this would be “pre existing” if not fixed right. This ends up being a $5,000 claim. Again I have to deal with this Ozie moron. He says he’s done with me bc I cancelled the home restoration he recommended. When I explain they couldn’t fix all the damage he tries to mansplain to me and says “Mistakes happen” and they’re not liable. Sending inexperienced techs that don’t know what they’re doing is absolutely their problem. I work in healthcare, if I make a mistake someone dies. I’m so sick of people not standing behind their work with garbage excuses. I’m like you need to refund me bc after ALL of this the toilet is squealing again SO loudly you can hear it in the yard. Ozie blames this on a wax ring. It’s not the F$&@ing ring!!! Ozie tells me that he’s “done with me & I can call the BBB and my lawyer” and hangs up. Buckle up buddy!!!!!"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.

Yes, hiring a drain cleaner is worth it, especially when compared to the cost of not being able to use a sink, shower, toilet, or bathtub and the potential damage that flooding can cause in your home. You might try a temporary drain cleaning liquid or snaking it yourself, but if the clog is out of reach or these methods do not work, then hiring a professional drain cleaner is the way to go.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.

Your home has a few telltale signs of a sewer line problem. If you notice multiple plumbing fixtures (toilet, sink, or shower drains) appear to be clogged, call a plumber ASAP. Also, if water appears in the tub or shower when you flush the toilet, you likely have a sewer line issue. A sulfur (rotten eggs) smell and bubbling or gurgling noises at the drain also warrant a check. And keep your eyes peeled for changes to the yard, such as a new indentation or mysteriously soggy grass.

The type of clog in your sewer main determines the required cleaning method. Different types or methods of sewer main cleaning require various tools like chemicals, mechanical removal, or a combination of both. Some of the most common types of sewer main line cleaning include:

  • Minor debris removal: $100–$600

  • Tree root removal: $100–$1,000

  • Trenchless pipe repair: $60–$250 per linear foot

  • General line repairs: $1,000–$4,000

  • Full pipe replacement: $3,000–$25,000
