Vision Solar offers solar panel installation for homeowners across Arizona, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey with an expert team and premier customer service. We manage every step of the process, from design, architecture, engineering, and permitting to installation and activation. Once permitting is complete, we’ll install your system within a 24-hour window, and most installations take just 30 days from design to activation. Thanks to partnerships with a number of trusted companies, you’ll even find everything you need to increase the value of your panels and promote better well-being in one location.

"My panels were installed in August of 2021. They weren't turned on until July of 2022. I was promised a refund on the cost of the panels. I provided all of the documentation they requested to refund me for the months I paid on my loan with no solar on April 1st. I have called to follow up dozens of times as they owe me close to $2,000 for the payments from November - July. (I have only currently submitted over 1k of those bills). They have not only failed to reimburse the funds, but their customer service can't even provide me a timeframe. When I call for updates, they just say it's been escalated. It's been escalated for 3 months with 0 resolution or update. I'm completely baffled by how you think you can run a business like this. If it was possible, I would have the panels removed from my roof, but just like all of your customers I am stuck dealing with your pathetic excuse for customer service. Not only that, but I recommended this company to my brother who purchased panels and they turned his system on before inspection and could have burned his house to the ground. Unbelievably bad service all around. I can't express more strongly to avoid doing business with this company and find a different panel provider."

"I had my panels installed in November of 2019. There were many discrepancies between what the sales associated had promised me and what I actually received. First I ordered enough panels to supposedly cover 60% of my electric consumption. However, my monthly power bill wasn't even reduced a third. Second, I was promised an app so detailed it would even break things down to what each panel was producing so I would know if there was an issues with any of them. What I actually received was a very basic app that only tells me what my whole system produces each month with no further break down. I never received the money promised for making referrals either. You do not get what you're promised by this company. Do not trust the sales team! or customer service for that matter in correcting it or working with you to resolve things."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.

While you can minimally overshoot the number of solar panels you need for your home, it's not smart to go too far. Not only is the extra cost unnecessary, but your state may put caps on how much energy your home can produce and send back to the grid. It is always best to work with a solar energy professional to determine the best system size for you.

A few disadvantages of installing solar panels on your roof include the high up-front costs and the potential for increased property taxes. Installing solar panels can increase the home’s value, which in turn can mean higher taxes. Depending on your area, you should check with your local tax offices for more information. Another potential pitfall is roof leaks from a poor installation, but this shouldn’t be an issue if you hire a reputable company.

Yes, you should tell your home insurance company about your solar panels. Even if you believe they’re covered by your existing policy, installing a solar panel system is a significant change to your home. This can affect coverage and premiums. By discussing your new solar panel installation with your insurance provider, you can be sure you have enough coverage and that the policy completely covers the panels against damage.

It’s possible to install solar on a tar and gravel roof, but it’s far from the best roofing material for solar. Solar installations require roof penetrations, and although your solar installer will seal the holes, they still increase the risk of roof leaks. Flat roofs are already more likely to leak than sloped roofs, and adding solar will only make leaks more likely.
