"This is the second time that I have used Brandon Electric. Although they are not the cheapest, their work is first rate. For this project, Jamal and Rob installed recessed ceiling lights (living room and first floor stairwell), upgraded/replaced numerous outlets and switches, and installed a bathroom fan and lighting fixture. Their work was excellent. They took care in making as few holes as possible, cleaned/vacuumed as they went and were punctual. I'll certainly use Brandon Electric for my next electrical job."
"Wonderful customer service with highly skilled and knowledgeable electricians! They helped me with the install of a 20 ft high chandelier in my foyer and changed out six LED light fixtures in my family room. Afterwards I received a free electrical inspection and they corrected a code violation in my main panel. I would recommend and will be hiring them again."
"After doing some research, I had a preliminary view of what needed to be done and the cost of the material for the work. Then, I contacted 5 electricians to get written estimates for the work. Four of the electricians quoted a price that was more expensive than Glenn. One electrician suggested replacing my current 200 AMP, 30-circuit electrical panel that was maxed out at 38 circuits, with a 40-circuit panel thereby only gaining 2 additional slots. Another electrician suggested instead installing a 100 AMP, 20-circuit sub-panel, which was the correct recommendation, per my research. Glenn also suggested this approach, so I immediately knew that I was dealing with a straight shooter. While price was an important part of the decision making process for selecting an electrician, price was not the only reason I decided to go with Glenn. Of course, he had outstanding reviews on Angle’s list (A ratings only), but of all of the electricians, he was the MOST thorough and MOST detailed at exploring what needed to be done and he explained everything step by step ... he also asked a lot of questions and analyzed my current electrical setup before making a recommendation. He provided a very comprehensive recommendation with 3 different options for me to choose from that provided an efficient sub- panel set up that was also cost efficient, but all 3 recommendations solved my problem. I decided to go with a 100 AMP 20 circuit sub-panel that will provide me with plenty room to expand in the future. Glenn completed all work in 2 days and I was extremely pleased with the job he did. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable regarding his trade, he is also very professional, quite personable; a very nice person. It was a pleasure to work with him and as I told him after the job was completed, he will be "my electrician guy" going forward. I "highly" recommend Glenn ... simply put, he is OUTSTANDING!!"

"I contacted JA drywall to work on some popcorn ceilings for me. Josh was very responsive and arrived on time to give me an estimate. To his credit, he did inform me that his estimate would probably be higher than other estimates I would receive. I decided to go with Josh because I felt he was honest, how he communicated with me and because he was available via telephone. Unlike other drywall contractors, who did not show up or were very flaky with the communication. Josh started the work on time and finished when he said he would be complete. Josh did a great job with my ceilings. The drywall was installed, taped, and sanded. I was very impressed with the work they did and I would absolutely hire him again. If you’re looking for drywall to be completed, Contact Josh and then call other companies and you’ll see the difference in communication. A+ in my book."
"The original time frame had to be pushed back because of the weather. I gave Nolan the dates I would be available and they made sure my start date was one of the first on the list. The arrival time was stated between 7:00 -7:30 AM. The crew later called me to say they would be arriving late. I probably was slightly upset for getting up so early because the painter didn't arrive until about 9:00 AM. However, Matt had such a friendly and professional attitude that I didn't fuss about the time. In fact, I am usually an early riser anyway.Matt entered the house to see what was to be done with the painting. He was very knowledeable when I asked questions. He did the power washing first and said he would return with another worker to complete power washing and the painting. I appreciated the call telling the arrival time because this gave me time to wash the top windows and the chandelier. When they arrived they went right to work preparing the room to be painted. Everything that needed to be covered or taped was excellently prepared. They both had a nice personality and they worked well together. When I first saw the color on the wall I didn't think I was going to like it. I was impressed how they still had my color sample and they put it against the painted wall so I could see how the color did match what I first picked out. Most of the time I probably would have stayed right in the house during the entire time of the job. However, Matt and his helper had such away about them that I knew they would do a good job. I went outside and worked on my yard. The clean up was excellent. Matt said he would return the next day to see how the paint looked after it was dry. The color looks great and the black spots on the stucco are gone. This was my second time using Nolan painting and I will definitely use them again. I will definitely request the same painters to come back again. Thanks for a job well done!"
"Excellent work, as always! This was the first she-shed on Dan's resume but I found out he will be doing a second one soon. Dan installed shiplap on all four walls and the ceiling and painted the walls (soft green) and ceiling (soft yellow). Tyles as usual also worked alongside his dad."
"I have a 2 story breakfast area that actually had a chandelier hanging down but was a nuisance and very ugly. I figured instead of having another chandelier put in its place it was suggested that we put in recessed lights using the LED dimmable bulbs. Sounded like a great idea. I was having my 2 story foyer and breakfast area ceiling painted (one continuous ceiling) and figured before it was painted I might as well have the chandelier removed and the recessed lighting installed. I originally called my regular electrician but their quote was quite higher than what I expected to spend so I went to Angie's and I called R. J. He came out and gave me a quote for half of what my regular electrician was going to charge me so I set up the appointment for the same day the painters were starting. R.J. called me that morning and informed me that one of his crew was out sick and the other was having car problems and wanted to know if he could reschedule. I informed him that the painters were starting and it would be kind of difficult for them to work around this and he said, "ok, hold on for a bit and let me see what I can arrange and I'll call you back and let you know if we can get out there". About an hour later he called and said he would be out there by 11:30 and he was. He really came through. He explained to his crew what was to be done and informed me that they would only be a few hours. His crew members that performed the work were very thorough, efficient, polite and neat. They did a great job of the installation and of the clean up. By the time they were done you would have never known that there had been a chandelier hanging in the same spot. I will definitely use R. J. Little again in the future since I still have a several electrical updates/needs to complete. He and his crew were great!"
Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts
The cost of installing light fixtures can vary due to the wide range of factors that affect the price. The type of lighting fixture, ranging from track lighting to a chandelier, impacts the installation cost, with ceiling-mounted fixtures being the most budget-friendly. You should also consider the labor costs associated with removing the existing light fixture, if necessary, and installing the new one. Don’t forget that the purchase price of the new or replacement fixture is separate from the installation price tag.
Some types of fixtures might be a little trickier to remove than others, but they’re all relatively basic DIY jobs that should take an hour or less. Identifying the type of light you have is the first step in a safe, simple removal—learn how to remove recessed lights for a quick how-to on taking out one of the more common types of fixtures.
Installing a light fixture usually takes about one to two hours for a standard ceiling-mounted fixture, and longer for more extensive installations. The installation time can vary depending on the type of fixture, whether you’re installing a new fixture or replacing an old one, and any additional wiring or drywall work required to finish around the new fixture. When hiring an electrician to install your light fixture, ask them to provide a time estimate based on the specifics of your project.
In place of track lighting, you can consider recessed lighting for a sleek, unobtrusive look or pendant lights to add a decorative touch. Chandeliers can create a focal point, while wall sconces offer ambient or task lighting without taking up ceiling space. Each alternative offers unique advantages, catering to different styles and functional needs.
Depending on your preference, a 100W bulb could be too bright for a bedroom. Most people prefer softer, relaxing bedroom lighting using a lower wattage bulb, around 40W to 60W for incandescent or the equivalent in LED (around 450 to 800 lumens). For adjustable brightness, consider using dimmable bulbs or layered lighting with bedside lamps and overhead lights to create a comfortable and versatile lighting environment.
