"I had a wonderful time getting a new roof! The representative who came was personable and presented information rather than "selling." The people who scheduled and who contacted me from customer service, even before the job started, were also professional and friendly. The job site coordinator was present and available for questions during the work, and the work crew was really beyond anything I have ever seen. I have never seen people work with such concentration on the job at hand, and with such expertise. The clean -up was excellent, as well. If and when I need any similar work done, I won't have to do an extensive search; I will be happy to call them again. It is such a relief to find such a company, and I really can't say enough about how great this project was!"

Couch Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

It’s not customary to tip HVAC technicians, and most professionals won’t expect it. However, it’s a nice way of showing your appreciation for the work they do, especially if they come out in inclement weather or on a weekend or holiday to fix an emergency issue if your heat or AC goes out in extreme temperatures. A good tip would be between 10% to 20% of the total bill, depending on how above and beyond the tech goes for your repair and on the total cost of your HVAC repair or service. For something like a routine tune-up or scheduled maintenance, tips aren’t expected.

As a general rule, HVAC air filters should be replaced every one to three months (or every 90 days). However, the ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the filter type and your home's environment. For instance, if you use thinner filters (1-2 inches deep), have pets, have household members with allergies, smoke indoors, or frequently keep windows open, you may need to change the filter as often as once a month. It's best to follow the manufacturer's recommendation as a guideline and visually inspect the filter monthly to see if it's dirty. Regular filter changes are crucial for maintaining proper airflow, good indoor air quality, and efficient HVAC system operation.

For families or individuals who experience regular or intermittent allergic reactions to airborne particles, a whole-house air filtration system can offer much relief. Regardless of the type of home air filter you install, you'll likely experience some benefits in the form of cleaner indoor air. If you're uncertain, consider a portable filter system to start.

NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is not legally required for HVAC technicians in most areas, but hiring a professional with this certification is highly recommended. NATE-certified technicians demonstrated their expertise and proficiency in different types of HVAC systems, offering assurance of quality service. It's a voluntary certification, yet it indicates a commitment to professionalism and ongoing training. Choosing a NATE-certified technician often means you're working with someone who is up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, which can lead to better service, energy efficiency, and long-term cost savings.

While you’re busy swapping out that old compressor, now is a great time to have your furnace cleaned and serviced , especially if your home is older and your heating system is as old as your AC unit. Likewise, it’s a good idea to clean your air ducts to ensure air flows properly through the house.
