I perform a wide range of tasks from Electrical Installation and repairs such as troubleshooting, re wiring, add ons to exsisting systems, and more!. Plumbing Installation and repairs including minor leaks, re plumbing lines, sump and grinder pumps, water heaters, fixtures, and Drain cleaning! Pool and Spa servicing including opening and closing. Appliance Installations, troubleshooting, and repairs. Fencing repairs and installs. Minor painting exterior and interior. General repairs around the home or business that you either 1. Not sure how to accomplish or 2. the big one.. you don't have the time to get to it. I am a 1 man operation with multiple years experience, schooling, and very dedicated to completing the various tasks and giving my clients the best possible experience and work that I can. Most hot tub cracks can be repaired unless they have gone beneath the acrylic. If so, you may need a professional to determine if the crack is repairable or if you should consider hot tub replacement instead.

It’s less expensive to leave your hot tub on all the time, though you’ll want to keep it at a reduced temperature. How much you use the hot tub is also a factor. You’ll want to keep it at a constant temperature between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit for weekly or daily use, then bump it up right before you get in. If you don’t plan to use your hot tub that often, you can turn it off as long as there’s no risk of freezing.  

You can drain a hot tub very quickly by using a submersible pump rather than the hose-sized drain at the bottom exterior of the tub. A pump can move up to 30 gallons per minute, draining your hot tub in no time. Using the regular drain can take up to two hours.

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property. 

When your hot tub is completely dry, there is typically no need to introduce antifreeze into the plumbing. However, if you desire an extra layer of protection against potential freeze damage, you can consider adding some RV antifreeze to your hot tub lines. Just ensure that you use RV antifreeze specifically, as automotive antifreeze is highly toxic and should be avoided.
