"Troy was quick to respond to our service request for a 12x22 shed pad. We found him to be extremely accommodating to our checklist, professional, and budget friendly. We were able to schedule in the project fast and the work was finished in a timely manner. Working with him was easy. He communicated with us throughout the process and left our yard clean. We highly recommend TWC Excavation & Outdoor Services and will contact him first for any future projects. Thank you, Troy! The shed pad makes our new shed look polished."

"Jeff came and formed out the area for my garage. I had a different excavator prep the area. But I understand Jeff now had the equipment to do the job from start to finish. Then on a Saturday, he and his helpers were there to pour and finish the floor. They had the truck empty, and we refinishing in no time. Next day they removed the forms. A week later I was building. This year I m going to use them again for some side walk and patio work. I am looking forward to working with them again. Highly recommend their services"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

How deep your septic system needs to be into the ground depends on several factors. In extremely cold environments, the tank needs to rest below the maximum frost line, which can be up to six or eight feet deep. The standard burying depth for most systems is between a few inches and four feet below ground level. Depth can also depend on the slope of the landscaping and other property variables.

After you successfully remove your boulder, you have a few options for what to do to get rid of it. You can rent a dumpster if your yard has many boulders or if you’re planning a larger project. You can even save the boulder and reuse it elsewhere on your property to save on landscaping costs. A few ideas include using the boulder as a natural, abstract statue, breaking it into smaller pieces to line your garden bed, or offering it to a landscaping company that could reuse it for another project.

Digging a well can cost between $20 and $25,000, depending on your needs. If you’re looking to dig a well yourself, all you need is a shovel. If you’re looking to have a well drilled by a professional, you can expect to pay around $15 to $30 per foot. The total cost of drilling a well will average to $5,500.

Some two-in-one tools and machines do both jobs, and those could be the right solution for smaller residential projects. However, the phrase “use the right tool for the job” definitely applies to digging. For the best results, get two separate tools for your trenching and landscape edging projects or call a pro to take care of everything for you.

Concrete blocks are the cheapest way to base a shed. However, the space in between allows critters to go under, burrow, and even damage your shed’s frame. For a more pest-proof option, consider building a shed base with gravel or paver stones. Both options are fairly affordable and easy enough for a DIY project. For gravel, you can build a wooden frame to contain the loose material.
