The entire job was meticulously performed from start to finish. It involved a high precision stone cutting. This company has a very hard working crew. They are dedicated and very kind. They cleaned up the construction site every day before they left. The machinery were covered and all the tools were put away. Bryan came often to supervise the job and give instructions. He communicated with me before, during and after the entire process. Bryan is also a very good adviser, he had elegant architectural ideas. He helped me to chose the materials and recommended the right plants and shrubs for the landscaping. I have and I will continue to recommend this company to neighbors, friends and family. I will use this company in the future again and again.

Wonderful crew to have around the house. Always left the job site clean. Kept us informed on project status and any concerns with weather. Always asked if we had any questions. The only thing they could not do is control the weather. Very happy with end result. Neighbors wanted to know who they were, so they could hire.

The deck and patio that Brian and his team installed turned out great. Brian also created planting beds around both with the excavated soil and was able to route downspouts under the patio out to the lawn. Clean up when they were done was meticulous.

This company was great. Quality work. Fair pricing. Great communication from company before., during, and after work was completed. Would use this company again. Excellent experience and wall/fence looks great.

Only a few places on exterior chimney were repointed at the time and now 3 years later the untouched grout areas are crumbling. Also grout around fireplace insert began to deteriorate shortly after job was completed. They came back several times to "fix" the problem however the grout is still turning to powder around the insert and one of the small "stone" pieces close to floor has popped off. Several calls and messages were never returned.

This is an update as promised to Mr. Smith. Delay in completion largely due to misunderstanding. Chimney finished. Looks good.

The house was struck by a tree and caused extensive damage to the chimney and roof, Smith Exteriors had the work done in a timely manner repairing the damaged rafters, roofing deck, ridge vent, shingle surface, gutters, fascia, soffit and chimney repairs in three days. The stainless steel chimney cap also needed replaced and they actually provided a bigger and better cap then the original. I appreciate the quality work done. I would recommend Smith Exteriors and had actually done that yesterday to a friend that is looking for a contractor.

Bryan was great! We had Bryan install a new chimney liner a few years ago which was perfect and prompt. This time Bryan came out and identified we needed a new chimney cap and several bricks were loose. He recommended the repairs and said he would repoint all of the bricks from the roof line up. We had a fairly tight request schedule and Bryan was extremely flexible in working what he called a “smaller job” into his schedule for us. The project was started and finished in one day and except for the Great improvement in the chimney, no one can tell he was here. He cleaned all up. We will definitely call Bryan at Smith Exteriors if we have other needs.

Bryan visited my house and thoroughly discussed which type of chimney liner was required for my boiler installation. He was very patient, polite, and highly knowledgeable in answering my questions at the time of the visit and by telephone when I had some follow-up questions regarding the estimate. He provided a written estimate quickly and the price was fair. He sent a two-man work crew over within a few days of receiving the deposit. His men arrived on time and worked very efficiently. The performed the work in a clean fashion and were highly respectful of my property. The installation was done skillfully and carefully. They did a beautiful job of installing the liner and connecting it to my existing domestic hot water heater, which shares the flue with the house heating boiler. I am completely satisfied with the service provided by this company and recommend them without qualification.

We are impressed. Smith Exteriors provided clear bids and explanations at each step as we expanded the scope of work. We were able to pick a nice custom chimney top with top-damper. The chimney looks excellent, with a properly soldiered row of bricks at the top as it was originally done. Neighbors have said how good it looks. A real bonus was that as is inevitable in any construction project, there are times when a crew is not fully occupied. Unlike any other outfit I have hired, during slack times, the crew made itself helpful!. They cleaned gutters, straightened copper guttering, power-washed porches, and raked leaves - all not on the bill. The work on the sidewalk was expertly done. They matched flagstone color, and did a bit of re-grading near the house to eliminate a chronic puddle/ice problem. They prepped surfaces to be painted, removed shutters, and our porches and trim looks better than it has in years. The interior of the fireplace, which had not been used in many years, was renewed with firebrick. The firebox was parged, and we were given a choice of methods. We chose to have them cut an access from the outside from a covered porch. They had us choose a cover (iron) which they had powder-coated to go with the original brick. We had been worried about the roof over that porch, which is the only shingle roofing (the rest is slate) due to mild slope. It was covered with moss. We picked out a premium shingle that went with the rest of the house's slate, and Smith Exteriors removed the old shingles. While they were prepared to make repairs, they informed us that the 3/4 inch tongue and groove wood below the shingles was in excellent shape. They did a great job shingling, with precise rows. Again, neighbors have commented on the quality of the work. We are very happy with Smith Exteriors, and would not hesitate to use them again.

Bryan and his company did an outstanding job repointing, cleaning and sealing this 86 year-old prominent two-story brick and stone chimney. I felt strongly that this old chimney warranted as solid and complete a job as possible rather than just repairing the bare minimum. As with any exterior job, it was subjected to weather setbacks and some modifications, but there were no unexpected or added expenses. The steep slopes of the roof lines and chimney location made this job somewhat challenging to access. Since this chimney is a major focal point of the front of the house, Bryan was very careful selecting the best colors color of the mortar and technique for repointing the unusual textured colored bricks with large embedded stones interspersed throughout, and even the chimney cap color suggestions. They also ground off all the sloppy poorly-done long-ago attempts at pointing which left streaks of mortar on some of the brick and stone faces. They returned as promised to coat the crown after it dried completely, and then after 30 days returned to seal the entire chimney. Bryan’s was the first estimate, but although we were very impressed with his presentation, I knew it was important to consider several more estimates before making the final decision. I discovered that different Masons have their preference for approaches, techniques and materials. Bryan carefully considered and answered all my questions regarding these differences and worked with me to satisfy requests. Workmanship warranty given as well as stating the warranties for the waterproof application and crown coat application. Bryan, his brother and the crew members did a great job and I will be happy to use them in the future, should the need arise elsewhere. In fact, my general contractor who was doing other work shortly thereafter and has used other Masons on his jobs, was impressed with the work as well; he requested Smith Exteriors' contact information for work for his own home! The below "before" and "after" shots, below - the "after" is even better in person than the photograph shows.

Very pleased with work. Bryan Smith came out to see scope of work and provided an estimate promptly. He kept in touch to let me know when the work would be done. The job was completed in one day. When the work was done, the area was cleaned up nicely. The chimney and brickwork on the side of the house looks great.

 We were in the process of looking to purchase this house  and found damaged bricks on the chimney.  Bryan came out to the house in the winter to inspect  the chimney  and quickly gave us an analysis and estimate to make repairs.  He did not charge for the estimate as other contractors did.  We waited over  year to make these repairs and I reached out to Bryan again to move forward on the repairs. Since so much time has passed he needed to look at the job again and revealed that there had been additional damage since the first review.  He made extra effort to locate the exact matching brick and tinted the mortar to match the rest of the the chimney. The crew showed up and complete the repairs in timely fashion.  The work looks great ! They cleaned up the work area and I didn't find any debris. The The craftsmanship and professionalism was exemplary . I would recommend this company for any masonry needs and will use them again if needed.

The work that was performed was acceptable to good. I would have prefered a more professional outfit with improved communication. Never received a final invoice for the work done and was told they would stop back in a few weeks to inspect the job. Never heard from them since. I work with a number of commercial contractors and as for as Smiths - The masonry skills were there just not the business skills.
