"To say that our experience with D&amp;N was a disaster is an understatement. Last July, we hired D&amp;N to grade our yard, install french drains, and install a retaining wall and fence. When we met with D&amp;N, we were told that this would be a quick job and should only take a few weeks. We then found out that they would be subcontracting our retaining wall. We were pleased, as our meeting was very professional. That&#39;s where it ended. Not only was it impossible to coordinate with their team, we were constantly told that they would be out to work and then wouldn&#39;t show up. A few months in, we find out that this is a side gig for they&#39;re team and they all have full time jobs. Fastforward to 8 months later, the job was &#34;finished.&#34; During spring, we notice that the french drains are not working properly. When we reached out to D&amp;N, we were told that they had nothing to do with it. Absolutely unprofessional. We&#39;ve spent weeks fixing issues that should have been taken care of. Do not hire!"

The cost to dig a trench ranges from $400 to $1,200 per 100 linear feet, depending on the soil, depth, and width. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.
