"We live in the city of Pittsburgh and researched all turf options. We have two large dogs that turned our back yard into a mud pit and the one dug holes all over the yard. The decision to Forever Lawn K9 Grass was the best decision ever. No more cleaning dogs off on rainy days and not holes at all. I would recommend ForeverLawn to anyone in the region."

"Needed a power line installed for our new pool, about 100' from the box out through the wall and to the yard. Archer was very quick to respond on Thumbtack and offered to stop by to give me a quote. They came by the next day and gave me the finalized quote later that evening. It was by far the best out of multiple quotes I had received. We originally planned with them to come out on Sunday but the pool was installed sooner than expected. They were able to re-arrange their schedule to come out Friday instead so that our pool would ready for Memorial Day. Very nice guys and they got the job done cleanly and quickly. I will absolutely call them again for future work, very pleased! Thanks guys!"

"Excellent! Fence was stick built with 2 gates. End result is a sturdy, straight, attractive fence with 2 gates which do not drag or get hung up on the ground. This is the third fence I’ve had built in different locations and by all means this is the best looking and most stable (no wiggle) I’ve ever had. Would hire again without hesitation."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

If you live in an area with heavy rain or you like the idea of an extra layer of cushion under your feet, you may want to consider adding additional layers under your grass. There are pads that are purely for comfort and ones that can help accelerate drainage for those heavy rains.

Multiple rules of thumb exist when discussing tree planting. When planting a tree, the best rule of thumb is to provide it with everything it needs to survive and thrive in its new environment. That may mean learning about the type of tree you're planting and studying the best methods of taking care of it before purchasing and planting.

It is for the purpose of protecting them from hail because you’ll be removing it soon after the threat is over. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants. But in the short term, it’s fine to use even an overturned garbage can to protect a plant from hail.
