"He has completed a number of jobs at my home. Gutter cleaning was just one of them. He has worked on my awning and secured places where there was open access to birds. Inside he has repaired doors, lighting fixture and the bath tub. Upon completion pictures are shared of work without easy access. I have been pleased with all the improvements. He is professional, knowledgable, prompt and courteous. Will not hesitate to use his services again."

"RedLine did a great job on a steam room door! We had about 7-8 other contractors who had no idea how to handle the project and Gino didn’t even flinch. We are very satisfied with his work!"

"The deck had a terrible mildew problem, uneven floor boards and nails popping up.  It looked very dilapidated, as if it needed to be replaced.  They removed everything off of the deck  for us, including the grill and tiki torches and replaced them upon completion of the job.The entire deck, steps and even the lattice was METICULOUSLY power washed on one of the hottest days of the summer.  Then there was too much rain and we had to wait for the deck to dry out before it was sanded and the stain was applied.  You get to choose from a host of colors.  The service was timely and the crew were exceptionally nice people.  I really was not expecting this type of result on that old deck.  People are now asking is it a new deck!  I will definitely use them again in the future.

Small jobs welcome

"I hired Kyle to do a big job and he got it done beautifully in two days. I am so glad I hired him, as there was no way I would have wanted to do this myself! I've kept his business card and will be sure to call him if I have any future work. He is fantastic. I would highly recommend him, this guy knows his stuff!"

"What a fantastic carpenter! Andy built us a beautiful barn closet door, created shelving for our kitchen and put in a farmhouse sink. He also installed a microwave and dishwasher. He did work in our bathroom that included a new exhaust fan, new flooring and a new vanity. Along with several other projects he got the house ready to move in. A great work ethic, fair and honest as well. We are glad to have found him!"

Deck Repair FAQs, answered by experts

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

Both a well-constructed deck and a patio can add value to your home. Patios are generally cheaper to build but don’t offer the same aesthetics as a quality deck. Therefore, decks can be more appealing to buyers than patios, increasing a home's resale value.

The proper and most comfortable height for a deck stair riser, also called a step, is between four and seven inches. A height of seven inches is often considered ideal for a strain-free step that minimizes the risk of trips and falls. While it is possible to have risers up to 12 inches, this height can be challenging for children, pets, or individuals with mobility issues. For optimal safety and comfort, pair a seven-inch riser with a tread depth (or run) of at least 10 to 12 inches. Always check your local building codes, as they may have specific requirements that differ from these general recommendations.

A deck that isn’t attached to a house is called a floating or freestanding deck. These standalone decks are built near ground level, so they usually don’t need deck stairs. Some don’t even require permits. Generally speaking, building a floating deck is faster and more DIY-friendly than constructing one that’s connected to your home.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.
