"The men were professional and curtious.
They installed outside lightning in very cold weather.
The paint job was done well. Wish they would have let me know that before finishing that another can of paint would have made a better finish. I would have gone and gotten more.
Vacuuming up or asking if i wanted to before they put the furniture back would have been nice as well."
"Found Rock-A-Fellas on Angies List and I'm glad I did. Bob examined thoroughly and patiently explained the construction flaws in the carport built in the rear of my home by another contractor back in 2009. Because the original contactor did not follow standard building codes and use proper construction techniques and materials, I was cited by the City of Philadelphia. Bob spoke to the Licenses and Inspections Inspector and tried very hard to figure a way to save the carport. Unfortunately, due to the poor prior construction, demolition was the only option left to me.
Bob and his three man crew arrived 30 minutes early and for the next three and a half hours methodically and carefully removed the carport, which included a roof and sides. I was very impressed with their attention to detail such as avoiding damaging the power and cable lines, reassembling the downspout, tying back the power lines after the demolition was over/
After the demolition was over, you couldn't tell there was ever a structure.
I hired Rock-A-Fellas to remodel/reconstruct my nephew's bedroom, which had termite and moisture damage. I'm also considering having Bob and his crew do a complete remodel of my kitchen, basement, and a new carport.
This was my best experience with a contractor. I give Rock-A-Fellas an A+++++ rating. "
"Everything was performed professionally. Crew members did work while I watched. Crew kindly described what was being done and why. Crew cleaned after work completed. Crew was very friendly and professional. Would recommend this contractor if you are looking for a professional to do work. Contractor does not cut corners and is not inexpensive."
"I can't thank Mark enough for being a voice of reason who stepped in to help us deal with a tricky situation. He is a straight forward, smart guy who cares about his clients. And that's not to say he doesn't care about the bottom line, too. He got us the best rate out of the three lenders we spoke with, and he made sure we understood exactly what we our options were. He is extremely responsive and quick - and you cannot underestimate the degree to which hustle can matter in housing transactions. He's an all-around gem, so glad we found him. "
"Providers met with us first in our home to discuss our needs, share ideas about paint colors, explain estimate, and arrange a schedule. They were very helpful in coordinating the colors we selected. They knew from past experience which colors were best and were open and honest about our choices. Without their help, we would have been less satisfied with the base color and trim we originally selected. Their experts' eye was invaluable! Their crew arrived promptly on the first day, and followed their predicted schedule throughout the project. There were frequent consultations as the job moved forward, and we were kept well informed about the progress. A careful examination of the house followed the completion of the painting, and it was very important to them that we were completely pleased with their work, which we were. Final touch-ups were made willingly and to our complete satisfaction. A thorough clean-up of our property occurred at the end of each day's work and when the painting was finished. Ladders and other equipment and materials were stored safely overnight. In addition to being very competent, the painters were polite, respectful of their surroundings, and willing to answer our questions and receive our comments. The finished product is magnificent, a genuine transformation that beautifies and complements the other homes in the neighborhood. We believe that the professionalism we were shown is consistent with what they offer their other clients in this area, and we will definitely recommend them to friends and colleagues, and will call them again for future painting needs."
"Everything went well right from the start. The contractor was both courteous and kept supplies neat while they were on our premises. The whole job (because the weather was good) took about 5 days. "
"I had called several contractors looking to have my roof replaced. Steadfast/Brian was the first to call me back - I was pleased with the timeliness of his response. Having never replaced a roof before I was apprehensive about the process. Brian took me through step by step - gave me a detailed estimate and let me ask as many questions as necessary till I felt comfortable. He and his crew did an excellent job. They were there when they said they would be, cleaned up as much as possible on a daily basis and I felt safe with them on my property. I would highly recommend Steadfast Custom Construction! Thanks guys!"
"It was fine. The original design didn’t meet my needs based on the information I provided them. However, they revised the plans which worked out better for me. They were able to get the first draft to me pretty quickly."
"Excellent - I ended up hiring someone to help with shopping and finishing piece - waste of time and money. Jill's service was by far the most useful and best value in my decorating process. "
Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts
Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.
Costs depend on furniture type, size, complexity, and whether additional modifications are needed.
Removing a load-bearing wall affects the structural integrity of your home, so you’ll need a permit before starting the work. Building codes vary by municipality, and obtaining a permit and having the work inspected after completion will ensure you’re in compliance with all applicable regulations.
For maximum stability, install grab bars on wall studs, as this will adequately support the weight. However, if you don't have access to studs, you can get by with wall anchors. If opting for the latter, choose specialty hollow wall anchors.
New builds, remodels, and additions often necessitate professional framing expertise.
