"Fantastic job. Dependable. They are super honest and skilled. I am a senior woman age 72, and this basement waterproofing challenge was daunting for me, but Dan B. and his crew put my mind to rest. So glad. Thanks so much!!"

"This is the second time we have hired Groundworks (formerly Bakers Waterproofing) to perform work at our house. The first project was in 2017 when we had the waterproofing system installed. We called Groundworks a few weeks ago to get an estimate on lifting our front sidewalk and stairs that have sunk a lot over the past year. The steps had sunk to the point that the railings were not connected to the house, making it very unsafe for anyone coming into the front of our home. Aaron Lenker & Corbin Gillichbover were very professional and knowledgeable when they arrived to assess our sidewalk and steps to lift them. They left our sidewalk and the surrounding area better than when they arrived. Our steps and sidewalk are now level, and the railings are securely attached to the house again. We are thrilled! I would highly recommend Groundworks if you need a basement waterproofing system or any concrete lifted."

"Seamless experience from start to finish. Todd was super knowledgeable and through on the consult/ sales end. The install team made quick work of the project. Their work was top notch and my basement is now completely dry. I would recommend their services to anyone with basement or foundation issues."

SaniDry Sedona is the world's most efficient, high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system and is a crucial element in basement waterproofing and crawl space repair. As a result of its compact size, it occupies less space in a basement and can easily be tucked away in a crawl space. The unit eliminates damp, musty odors by drying and filtering the air, and it costs less to run than other dehumidifiers. It filters mold spores, dust mite droppings, dust and other particles, and it keeps hu

"The work was messy but The crew was very hard working. The jackhammer hit a pipe under our sink. They came back to fix that. While the amount of water was drastically reduced in our basement, I will never feel secure enough to finish it. They have returned 4-5 times to troubleshoot the problem because their service has a lifetime guarantee. The last time they came (2 years after original job) they added another sump pump and redug one of the ditches. It seems to have helped but I still see a very small amount of water seeping through a few cracks in the floor. With two small kids in the house, it's exhausting to keep having service people in and out of your house. I'm not happy it took so many visits, but I think overall that they were fairly quick in responding to my calls and getting out to our house."

"Dan explained to me everything they were gonna do, showed me what materials they were going to use, he took the time to explain everything as some others just seemed to rush in measure give a price and out the door, this is the main reason we choose pa basement solutions, he also went above and beyond with some extras he didn t charge for, I know our neighbors had this done to there basement as well by a different company, and they complained about there upstairs being so full of dust they said it was horrible, well we had no dust upstairs at all, they cleaned up great and the work looked awesome, yes I would highly recommend PA basement solutions"

"Don't be pressured into having the work done on their schedule. I had way too much "stuff: in my basement, that is now pushed to the center of the basement and even though is was covered with plastic, everything is covered with white dust. As far as the finished drainage work, I'm very pleased."

"We called All Mold and Basement because we were continually getting water in the basement. Dave explained why this was happening and what they could do to prevent it from happening again. The workers arrived on time, were courteous and knowledgeable; Dave inspected their work himself when they were done, and encouraged us to call him with any further questions. All told, we were very impressed with the company and by Dave's personal attention to the project."

Basement Waterproofing FAQs, answered by experts

Water that pools under pavers can erode the soil foundation and weaken the paver structure. In some situations, it can also cause mold and mildew growth. If that happens, you may need to start budgeting for the cost to build and install a patio to replace the damaged one.

Crawl space encapsulation typically lasts between 10 to 20 years. If you experience a catastrophic event, like a flood, or poorly encapsulate your space with low-quality materials, it may only last a decade. Otherwise, as long as you properly maintain your crawl space, a high-quality encapsulation can last more than 20 years.

Yes, crawl spaces can attract bugs, especially since moisture tends to build up in the space, and moisture attracts pests. A good way to prevent pest infestation in your crawl space is to install a vapor barrier—called crawl space encapsulation—on the interior to seal the space, along with a French drain or some other kind of foundation drainage system outside to keep runoff out of your crawl space. You can also seal foundation cracks and repair damages to cut off access to pests.

Ductwork sweats due to a temperature difference between the air inside the ducts and the surrounding air, similar to how a cold drink develops condensation in the heat. This sweating is a sign that your HVAC system is not operating at peak efficiency. The best way to keep ductwork from sweating is to wrap it in proper insulation, which also improves your system's energy efficiency. Another option is to close off your crawl space and install a dehumidifier to dry the air and lower its dew point.

Ideal humidity conditions generally range from 30% to 50%, with 45% considered optimal humidity for most homes. If your humidity levels drop below that range, you can turn your dehumidifier off. Additionally, suppose the temperature where the dehumidifier is installed falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In that case, it's best to turn it off and unplug it since cooler temperatures can cause the unit's coils to freeze.
