"The business engages in shady billing practices. They say they mowed the lawn when the lawn did not need mowing at all. They say they did a "double cut" when the grass was barely 2 inches in height. When we complain, the staff is rude and comes across as racist. Based on our experience, we would not recommend hiring Alex's Proscape for lawn care. We will not renew our contract."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

Your lawn will have visible signs if it needs fertilizing. If your grass looks discolored, is slow growing, looks thin, or your yard has bare spots, then it probably needs to be fertilized to give it the nutrients it's lacking. You should also keep an eye out for weeds and pests because they can also be signs of a struggling lawn.

Water your yard a little more deeply after a drought for about two weeks (while still avoiding overwatering). Once your sod is about six weeks old, you can start to establish a regular lawn maintenance routine, complete with mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
