"I'm selling my house and needed a quick turn-around to get some electrical work done as required by the buyers' lender. It's only been a couple days since I posted my project on Angi and the work is already done. Safety Home Services contacted me right away to get my project on their schedule. Kevin arrived as scheduled and was very quick and thorough with the GFCI replacements and other items on my list. As a bonus, he identified and clearly labeled all the switches in my breaker box. I'm a very happy customer."

"Contractors review I purchased a house last year and Contractors Electric was recommended by my realtor to move the new house Electrical Panel due to location and the style of panel as advised by the home inspector. Contractors was brought in to proceed with the removal of the old panel and install the new panel, move existing wiring to new panel location, and provide a new utility service hook up despite other electrical contractor recommendations. I personally work in the electrical industry and recommended other shops due to first hand knowledge of Contractors poor quality installations. There has been some issues with receptacles and lighting in my new home and upon troubleshooting these issues I have concluded multiple issues that need to be resolved. Hots and Grounds are swapped. Hots and Neutrals are swapped. Poor Grounding. Wire nuts falling off when Junction Boxes are accessed and some Hots and Neutrals not safely capped off or tied into proper circuits. Junction Boxes not properly secured or closed. Wiring installations and wiring raceways not properly secured. Extremely disappointing and poorly installed installations of existing and new wiring in a fashion that is embarrassing. Their installation was not clean, not even a sense of quality was preformed in any part of the installation, and the complete lack of pride is easily observed in every aspect of Contractors installation. Outside of simply following, or lack of, the Electrical Code, Contractors carelessness in other parts of the electrical installation exhibits a disregard for basic and standard practices. When penetrating through the attic walls for an exterior installation (tying into a Junction Box, placed above new Panel), the penetrations were not sealed, at all. This is not just "seeing" daylight through a crack, it was (2) 2-1/2" holes drilled through my walls with absolutely nothing to prevent water, insects, or other pests working its way into my attic, let alone, any type of protection for the passing through wiring. When adding the Service Stand Pipe, Point-of-Connection, on top of my roof, Contractors just placed on top of my shingles rather than lifting the shingle above the Boot location and placing it under to prevent leakage. No matter the amount of roofing tar used, eventually water will find a way into my roof and attic. As for the old installation, here was Contractors solution: 1- Old Panel location: The panel "hole" and drilled wiring holes through the top plate were left and expected for the new home owner, me, to foot the repair, material and cost to complete Contractors job. 2- Old Point-of-Connection: Left penetrated through the roof, which I can understand, yet the existing wiring was left hanging out of the Weather Head, which were not safed off from potential shock hazard nor labeled as such. If i were not involved in the electrical profession I would have assumed this was all done properly and safely. Unfortunately, Contractors work and reputation makes me doubt my families wellbeing in our home, due to their negligence. 3- Old Meter Base: The opening was simply covered with a piece of cardboard. There is an actual abandoned meter base cover that should be installed. Contractors sub-par installation at my home is consistent with their residential service calls, commercial service calls, and new commercial installations throughout their coverage area. Contractors should pride themselves in a safer and better installation across all aspects of their electrical installations. Not only because they fail at basic knowledge and common sense, but also, because they have families, individuals, and businesses lives in their hands that they treat so carelessly. I will not be using Contractors, ever. Nor will I, or anyone I know, will ever recommend Contractors for any kind of electrical work, period. Their poor quality and lack of safe installations should be concerning to anyone who reads this review, if they don't delete it. Stay away from Contractors Electric! October 6, 2022 at 10:16am **Mr Kitter, if what you are saying is true, you have reason to be upset. My concern though is that I cannot find a client by your name, nor a job that is has a description of performed work that is similar to what you've described here. I see a LinkedIn profile for you as a heavy equipment operator in the eugene area but again, no one here has heard of you. I am perplexed as to why if this installation is as terrible as you have recounted here that you have not called us directly about it. You claim water damage but have never made a claim with us about it. There is so much wrong about what you've described here and we would like to be able to address it with you. You also say this is characteristic of all our work in the area but I'm not clear why you would think or claim to know this since we've never heard of you. Can you please call our office and help us identify the work you've described and help you resolve your concerns? October 10, 2022 at 7:38pm **Contractors Electric LLC Thank you for your reply to my review and your willingness to right your wrong, I appreciate it. Firstly, I did not claim water damage, please re-read my review. Secondly, it won't be under my name, for I am the buyer, therefore, the seller is the one it will be under. Lastly, if you were unwilling to provide quality work the first time around, and left an unsafe, poor installation; why would I have you come back out and attempt to do it better? Contractors should be, at the very least, meeting the standard of "do it right the first time", not the second, third, or forth time. As I plainly stated in my review, I will not be using, recommending, nor providing positive feedback for Contractors Electric. Good luck to you in your future, and here's hope to Contractors stepping up their game. October 14, 2022 at 5:10pm **Mr. Kitter, Since you refused to identify this job, nor allow us the courtesy of being able to personally address these issues on your new home I had to do some digging and finally found the sales transaction your home in the county records so that I could identify which job this was on Benson Lane which was performed nearly exactly one year ago. And, as I suspected, most of what you have complained about had literally nothing to do with us whatsoever. To your issue of the roof jack not being placed under the existing roofing tiles and instead tarred in place. Yes, this is something we'd prefer our guys not do but most electricians do not want to take the risk of damaging existing roofing materials by lifting them out of place and possibly damaging them to make room for the roof jack. When we find them doing this we normally request they do this the other way. Unfortunately since you refused to work with us on this or identify this potential problem in a timely manner we had no ability to address it with you. The written contract we had with Triple Oaks Realty was to do ONE thing and one thing ONLY.... provide a new service at a different location. The panel was left in place to act as a splice box in order to relocate the existing wiring to the panel. However, the rest of the switchgear including the meter box and mast through the roof along with the conductors in them were left as is at the request of the realty company as they did not want to pay for having them removed which would have resulted in additional costs to patch and repair the surfaces below them. This was a decision made beyond our control and has nothing to do with us. The cover over the existing meter hole was covered with cardboard because the realty company told us the new owner would probably be removing all that but they did not want us to spend additional money on it so we did not. But, some of the most damaging complaints you made against our company included the following comments: "issues with receptacles and lighting in my new home and upon troubleshooting these issues I have concluded multiple issues that need to be resolved. "Hots and Grounds are swapped. Hots and Neutrals are swapped. Poor Grounding. Wire nuts falling off when Junction Boxes are accessed and some H"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.

Generally, a ceiling fan should be mounted at least seven feet from the floor in the center of your room with a wall clearance of around 18 inches. If your ceiling is more than eight feet high, it’s recommended by experts that the ceiling fan be mounted around eight to nine feet from the ground. This helps ensure a better quality of circulated airflow.

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.

If your home doesn’t have the existing wiring to power a ceiling fan, you may need to hire a certified electrician to set it up for you. Building codes in some parts of the country require this part to be done by an expert. And in general, you want peace of mind that your electricals are installed correctly.

Installation generally takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the home structure, electrical characteristics, and attic access ease.
