"John was such a pleasure to work with. We needed our deck refinished and he did an awesome job. The deck looks beautiful, and it was really easy to communicate with him. I've had John come out and help on my property with multiple projects now, including setting up stalls for my barn, and even getting my boat ready for winter storage. I would love to have him help out again when he's in the area."

"Great personality, easy to work with and he did an excellent job on my really dirty deck. I've already talked with him about another project and I will hire him again! His price was competitive with the other 2 I contacted. Really nice equipment, too."

"They were punctual the first day and arrived before the time they said, but 2nd day they didn't arrive when said and was a little late. Only reason why not giving them 5 stars, but they did build what I was expecting and it will serve the purpose for my uncle. For that I'm grateful and they were nice to work with."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.

While you can use various materials like sand or even just soil, gravel is widely considered the best option to put under a deck. It provides excellent drainage and is resistant to water, fire, and pests. Gravel also helps anchor the soil to prevent erosion during heavy rain and acts as a built-in weed blocker, reducing regular upkeep. Furthermore, it is simple to spread, available in various textures and tones, and adds a polished look that complements any deck design.

Rotting wood, loose railings, or unstable stairs may indicate a need for expertise.

Staining and sealing the underside of a deck creates a moisture barrier but traps water in the boards, quickly leading to rot. No matter how well you seal the above deck, water still gets through via nails and screw heads on the surface. Allow this water to flow naturally under the deck, where it is routed through the drainage system.

Many composite decking manufacturers, including the popular Trex brand, offer warranties that protect against warping under specific conditions. These warranties typically last between 20 and 50 years, but they usually exclude claims related to improper installation of the product. Some manufacturer warranties only cover decks built by certified professionals.
