With so many vastly different options to choose from, how can you find an inexpensive garage floor that you can also confidently say is the best? The right solution will be different for everyone and truly depends on your individual needs and stylistic tastes.

If you’re working with a smaller budget, a low-cost coating such as paint, sealer, or stain might be the best way to express your style in the garage. If you need a high-performance surface that can handle the tough projects and maintenance you do in the garage, or if you want a wide range of colorful customization options, flexible tiles might be for you.

Having a garage installed certainly adds to the value of your home. The consideration is not whether it adds value, but for many, they want to know if adding a garage yields a return on their investment or ROI. While garages can add anywhere from 5% to 20% of the total value of your property, that doesn’t mean that they return 5% to 20% of the money invested in building them. A traditional driveway gate isn’t your only option when installing a barricade in front of your driveway. A security gate like a swing gate, double swing gate, bi-folding gate, vertical gate, or pivot gate could work just as well as your driveway gate—if not better for your home depending on which qualities you’re after. Like sliding driveway gates, many of these alternatives work with automatic features that simplify entering and exiting your property.
