"Stephen and his crew did a re-roofing project for me. Last fall I decided to have the original cedar shake roof removed (installed in 1999) and put on architectural shingles. Another roofing company bid and completed the easy part of the job last fall but then did not answer my calls, direct messages and Facebook messages when I tried to schedule completion of the rest of the roof. So, I contacted Stephen of Let's Build Oregon. Stephen was always very prompt to answer my phone calls and showed up that first day for the estimate. The job was completed to my satisfaction, on time and on budget. That last part is a big deal because the job that they completed was the hardest part of a roof (all the small regions with many cuts and lots of opportunity for water to leak). "They did a real good job. They were real professional. We can now open the garage door from the inside of the house and now it is so smooth that we have to check to see if we hit the button to open it or close it.  Before we used to know when it was opening or closing because it used to make a noise. It helps when you move to a city where you are new. "

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence. 

While many fence companies and fence material retailers refer to their metal fencing as wrought iron fencing, most of it is actually ornamental wrought iron fence. This means that the fence is made to look like traditional wrought iron but is actually made out of either steel or aluminum. Old wrought iron fences typically found at estate sales or on older properties are much heavier and much more prone to rust than the ornamental wrought iron that newer homes and fences use.

This depends on where you are placing the iron railing. If you are installing a railing along a staircase, it would be a good time to conduct any necessary repair or maintenance jobs to the staircase itself. If you are throwing the railing up surrounding a deck or porch, deal with any persistent issues with said deck or porch. If you or a loved one needs a bit of extra help getting in and out of your house, this could also be a good time to install a disability ramp.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.
