My name is Grayson. I have been a Custom Home Builder in the Pacific Northwest for 21 years, and the story of my business is long, on quality and integrity. During this time, I have completed thousands, of too-many-to-list here, eye catching projects in and throughout Clark County, Washington, and surrounding areas. With a positive attitude, I work with customers, first listening to them; then incorporating their ideas, with my own talent‘s, skill’s, knowledge, experience, and creativity. Then I go to work on completing a finished project, whereby we can both be proud. This a win-win situation for both of us, and makes for a great working relationship.

"Terrible experience with Dreamline in our kitchen remodel. We knew what we wanted, and they showed us a sample board of what our cabinets would look like. When they installed them, they were nowhere near the color/look promised. They did an oil treatment after the fact to get the look, and while darker than what we wanted, some of the cabinets looked good....a bookcase and 2 drawer faces looked horrible. They re-did the bookcase, and it looked worse. They re-did it again and its ok, but is even darker than everything else...so the island was redone to match to bookcase. Turns out, they never compared to the rest of the cabinets (the ones that are good)...so now the island doesn't match the main cabinets. They took one of the upper cabinet doors that looks great, to use as a guide to re-do the island facings and the 2 drawer faces...and when they returned, not only did they not match the sample door, they are not even close. The rep even admitted they looked terrible (so much for quality control). Everything is installed around the cabinets...and clearly this company is not able to get the cabinets to look right. Absolute nightmare scenario unfolding thanks to Dreamline. Insult to injury...the cabinet layout that they designed, after reviewing the appliances we were getting, include a "lazy susan" corner that is completely non-functional because they didn't realize that oven doors have handles....so now we have a perfectly designed dead space. Meanwhile in our master bathroom, they installed a major bank of cabinets crooked and apparently just hoped we wouldn't notice. When we did, the initial comment was that it was drywalled crooked by the contractor (again, why not mention it to us or the contractor??)...and now they're here trying to correct it. 0/5 do not recommend. We 100% regret using them."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

For most purposes, you should go with wood that’s at least 3/4-inch thick for DIY closet shelves. This is the standard thickness for solid wood or MDF shelving and should be able to hold a good amount of weight (around 80 pounds for MDF and 130 pounds for plywood). If you’re storing tools, camera equipment, or other heavier items, you can go up to 1 1/4-inch thickness for maximum strength and durability.

Plywood offers excellent stability and strength for drawer construction. Baltic birch plywood provides a premium appearance, while standard hardwood plywood offers good value. Solid wood works well but requires more attention to grain direction and seasonal movement.

If you are building a laminate countertop from scratch, instead of buying premade laminate countertops, you can use particle board underneath the laminate. You will need to use a sheet of particle board for the substrate, along with four-inch strips underneath the edges. For proper installation, make sure that any seams are level and use a sander as necessary before installing the laminate.

Clean regularly, avoid harsh chemicals, and address scratches or dents promptly to preserve their appearance.

Yes, you can and likely should mix knobs and pulls on different cabinets in your kitchen. Typically, pulls are helpful on cabinets at high levels and knobs are great for lower cabinets, but it’s all up to preference. Just be sure to keep the finish consistent between knobs and pulls for a stylish and cohesive look.
