"David spent the past 3 days at my home refacing my kitchen cabinets and I could not be happier with the experience. Not only do they look great, but he is very consultative and helped me make informed decisions on judgment calls like handle placement. He also went above the call of duty and moved a cabinet to the right of my range 1/4 inch to give it the necessary wiggle room to safely pull it out in the future. Great guy, totally focused on client satisfaction - 5 stars!"

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

The 1/3 rule is a design guideline used by interior designers and cabinet installers to select appropriately sized pulls for cabinets and drawers. The rule suggests that for a balanced and cohesive look, a cabinet pull should be approximately one-third the height of the cabinet door or one-third the width of the drawer face. This guideline helps create a symmetrical appearance because the human eye tends to follow the length of the pull across the cabinet face.

While the 1/3 rule is a helpful starting point, it is not the only option. If a measurement falls between available pull sizes, it's generally best to size up. For an ultra-contemporary aesthetic, you can also opt for full-width pulls that span the entire drawer.

Yes, there are some options for pre-built inset cabinets—and RTA ones, too—but the selection can be somewhat limited. Many homeowners who decide on inset cabinets choose to have them custom made.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on customization and venting setup.

If you have a drawer larger than 30 inches, you should consider adding two pulls, but, again, this decision is up to personal preference. Any pro you work with on cabinet installation can help you determine how many pulls you need and where you should place them.

It depends on whether you buy pre-made stacked cabinets or construct them from scratch. If you build added cabinets from scratch, you can expect it to take several hours or days to build each one and then another two to three days for installation. Then, after painting your new cabinets, you should allow a few weeks for the paint to dry thoroughly before installing them over your existing cabinets.
