"Tyson came in at 8:00 am and competed the removal and installation of the new tub and liner and was gone at 4:30 pm. I would recommend Tyson for installer of the year. He was very knowledgeable and kept us informed at all times as to the installation. If I were still in a position to hire employees, I would like to have Tyson join my team. Thank you, Tyson for being a great man and making this install go so well. George Marks & Myrna Marks"

Customers say: Quick response

"Joe and his crew did an amazing job on our bathroom. They were kind, professional, and super clean. I really appreciated how they not only cared about making sure the job was well done but also making sure that the areas in my house were not left dirty. The communication with Joe was stellar, the work is beautiful, and reasonably priced. I cannot recommend them more!!"

"Savana has been such an amazing person to talk to and receive information from about windows. We never knew there was so much that goes into a window and itâ s install and she gave us all her knowledge. We werenâ t sure if we wanted new windows yet but she made us feel so much better about getting them sooner. She has honestly been such an awesome person to talk to and spend 5 hours with! It wasnâ t all just about windows and bathtubs we got to know her and her company. Weâ re excited to have new windows for the winter and not learn what winter is like with 90 year old windows. And weâ re even more excited to be able to open our windows without them being painted shut!"

"The sales associate that came out to our house was amazing. That is the only reason why this company is getting three stars. I understand that they are high-quality work but just to remodel my bathtub was $24,000. I can remodel my whole entire bathroom for less than 15,000 and that is including bathtub toilet flooring and a new vanity, I understand it is high-quality but what is the likelihood that somebody is gonna live in their house for 40 to 50 years let alone every 10 to 15 years outdated I am so sorry but I am not paying five times the amount just because you are a namebrand"

"We have hired Paul and his team for several projects in the past several years, most recently for a kitchen remodel. He is professional, honest, the work is done to a high standard and we trust his judgment. He has replaced our windows, remodeled our kitchen and bathrooms, remodeled our bedroom , built a new deck and made cedar siding to match existing cedar siding on our home perfectly. We highly recommend him."

"I recently hired Harris and Sons in Bend, OR, to remodel my bathroom, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, their team was professional, attentive, and detail-oriented. They listened carefully to my ideas and provided thoughtful suggestions that elevated the design. The craftsmanship was top-notch, and they stayed on schedule, keeping me updated every step of the way. They also made a point to leave the worksite clean and tidy each day, which I truly appreciated. My new bathroom is not only beautiful but also incredibly functional. I highly recommend Harris and Sons for anyone looking for a reliable and skilled team for their home projects!"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Installing a clawfoot tub with a minimum of 6 inches of clearance from surrounding walls allows ample room for the faucet and pipework, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the chance of moisture being trapped between the tub and the walls. It might need to be closer if the faucet comes directly out of the wall.

Ensures correct plumbing connections and secure installation to prevent future water damage.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.

Whether replacing a bathtub with a shower affects your home's value depends on several factors, with the most significant being whether it's the only tub in the house. Removing the sole bathtub can lower a home's value because many prospective buyers, particularly families with young children or pets, require at least one.

However, a tub-to-shower conversion can also increase home value. A modern walk-in shower is often seen as an upgrade in a secondary bathroom and can be a desirable feature for its accessibility and style, appealing to older homebuyers or those without children. The overall impact is also influenced by your local real estate market and its typical buyer demographic.

If your bathroom layout allows, installing both a freestanding bathtub and a separate shower can be an ideal solution that appeals to the widest range of potential buyers.

The most common type of tub is the alcove; most bathtubs are shower and tub combinations. Many suburban homes feature these as the default option because they allow the flexibility for users to take a bath or a shower—a notable benefit for those with pets and young kids.
