Customers say: True professional

"Quinn Services was a God Send! He was awesome...for once a contractor who shows up when he says he is going to! He was very reasonable and he went the extra mile. I cannot say enough about this service. The work was outstanding and he did it when he said he would and he did it quickly. His pricing is excellent and fair. I will certainly use them again. One last note, I was hesitant to use Angie's list , a few years ago before they screened so well, I had a contractor who really disappointed. Quinns Services put my faith back in them. Very happy camper here."

"The owner came by to give me an estimate when he said he would. The workers turned up the next day and did a great job. I'm going to use them as a regular maintenance firm and will also have a sprinkler/drip system project done in the spring."

"The yard at my new home was about 3 years overgrown. Tristen got back to me within 24 hours and showed up the next day to estimate the job. He gave me a price and said he would contact me the first day the weather was fair and he was unscheduled. In less than a week after my first call, the job I requested was finished at the price he quoted."

"We needed Jim last winter to "fix" our stove, but it turned out that it's just tricky to light. So he showed us how to do it. We paid him for that trip. Then, it was surely broken this time, but no, he just had to show us again how to light it and there was no charge for that trip. This summer, Jim fixed our vacuum head (had a wire short in it) and the dryer (had a baffle come off) and he charged us a very reasonable amount. He's our "go-to" guy for home repairs."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

A solarium is a luxury addition to a home and can be an excellent breakfast area or reading space, but that doesn't mean there aren't disadvantages. For one, since the room is made of glass it can look dirty very quickly. Another disadvantage is solariums are notoriously hard to balance temperature and will most likely significantly increase your heating and air conditioning bill. Unlike a greenhouse addition to a house, a solarium won’t help you grow as many plants.

Whether a prefab sunroom is worth it will depend on each homeowner’s unique needs and preferences. Overall, prefab sunrooms are a wallet-friendly, speedy, and reliable option for individuals looking to get some vitamin D in a simply-designed yet sunny space. Not to mention, sunrooms can increase your home’s value and the enjoyment you feel at home.

The cost to screen in a porch depends on whether you are adding screens to an existing structure or building a new one from scratch. Adding screens to an existing porch costs about $5 to $7 per square foot, with a national average cost of around $2,800. For example, screening a 12-by-12-foot (144-square-foot) porch would likely cost between $700 and $1,000. If you are building a new screened-in porch, the cost is substantially higher. A new 12-by-12-foot screened-in porch can cost between $6,400 and $18,300, while a new 14-by-16-foot one averages around $11,000. The final price will vary based on the size of the porch, labor costs, and the materials you choose.

Yes, adding a sunroom can increase your home's value, with a return on investment (ROI) ranging from 20% for a screen room to 50% for a three- or four-season room. The amount of value added depends on the design. Fully insulated, temperature-controlled four-season sunrooms add the most value as they can be included in the home's total living space. In contrast, simpler structures like Arizona rooms or solariums typically have a lower return as they don't count as legal living space. A high-quality sunroom can also be an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially those who enjoy gardening. The value may also be higher in warmer climates where this feature is more sought after. When deciding, consider both the potential resale value and the personal value you will get from using the room.
