Customers say: True professional

"The crew were very courteous and hard working. They wanted to make sure I was happy with the design and end product. Chris knew all the plants, having a nursery background, and James designed the water feature. I couldnâ t be happier with how it all turned out, and everyone that comes to my home says it looks like a park. Even the owner of the company says itâ s the best yard space theyâ ve done. Outstanding!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I called three companies for an estimate and Luis was the first to respond and stood by the estimate. His work was excellent. He pulled out the plants that weren't doing well as I requested, trimmed and shaped all of the rest of the bushes, pulled weeds and sprayed the yard for weeds, he checked the drip system and took all the debris away when he was through. He answered all of my questions and did whatever I asked him to do. What wonderful service and the yards look beautiful. I highly recommend him."

"Paul was very proactive in his approach to our situation. He offered options, knowledge, and practical aspects for us to consider. When we were able to come together on a schedule, he was prompt, did the work as discussed, and left the site clean. We would have no reservation about recommending Paul to anyone that needed his services."

"Fence went up in a timely manner. Applied sealer. Then after sealer dried, stained fence. Fence install looks good. Not perfect, but satisfactory. The stain, however was another story. After application, I was expecting a second coat. Silvano set up inspection for completion and final payment. I was surprised that they had thought it was sufficient. I complained about the lack of coverage. He agreed and sent his guy out to redo. I believe he should have inspected the job before he thought it was done. They applied another coat. Still not perfect, but I wanted the experience over with. Later, while doing some cleaning in my back yard, I became aware of overspray everywhere. Retaining wall, furniture, outdoor heater, and other misc items. I would not hire for any other projects."

"Forever June Landscapes, Kre Meyer, did a great job working in high temperatures, i. e., June. He used natural flagstone to create two pathways that blend naturally into our backyard. The flagstone paths gently slow down from our back deck to our carport. The stones are level and the design is attractive. I highly recommend Kre. He has a good attitude and communicates well."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Yes, if you are using rocks to form a pathway or driveway, it’s a good idea to first install landscape fabric before layering in your rocks. Landscape fabric is your first line of defense against unwanted grass and weeds on your rocky surface.

The best type of rock for landscaping depends on your specific project and needs, as different rocks are suited for different applications. For covering large areas or creating an affordable driveway, consider gravel, but note that it can wash away in flowing water. For water features, river rocks are a good option. Flagstone and cobblestone are ideal for aesthetically pleasing patios and walkways. If you are building a stone wall, fieldstone or small boulders are up to the task. Large boulders and landscape rocks work well as statement pieces, to fill empty space, or to indicate boundaries, but be mindful that they can overwhelm smaller gardens. The best approach is to first define your landscaping project and then select the rock type that best fits that purpose.

The primary disadvantages of xeriscaping are the high upfront cost and the significant labor required to establish it. A xeriscaping project can cost between $3,000 and $24,000 on average. Additionally, the resulting landscape will have less of a traditional green appearance, which may not appeal to everyone's personal taste and could potentially narrow your pool of buyers if you decide to sell your home. However, despite these initial drawbacks, the long-term benefits include saving water, time, and money on lawn maintenance.

If you are xeriscaping a lawn from scratch, your best bet for preparing the lawn is to work with a xeriscaping specialist in your area. The most common first step to making the transformation, however, will be to remove the turfgrass from your lawn. The subsequent steps will often include amending the soil to support new plants and installing low-drip or drip irrigation systems.

While both fall and spring are suitable times of the year for planting trees, fall is typically the better option. Soil stays warm long enough to allow tree roots to establish in fall before they go dormant, while spring might give way to intense summer heat before spring-planted trees have time to grow strong roots.
