"I had a client who wanted their window replaced with glass block. It is not a common installation these days but Demren was confident he was able to it and did it with a smile on his face. He was even graceful when there was a mishap with materials being delayed and came back to complete the work without a problem. The window looks great and both the client and I are very happy with the results. In most cases carpentry is one part skill and the other is being creative and intuitive in problem solving. Demren has no doubt an eye for detail and a very diverse set of skills. Highly recommended."

I have 5 years of carpentry and remodel experience. I genuinely enjoy the building side of things and I've taken custom pieces from design to finish, including shelving units, closet build outs, garage storage systems, and deck work. Beyond carpentry, I'm comfortable with a wide variety of home repairs, doors and window work, and general touch up. I bring a full tool set to every job, keep a clean space, and communicate well, especially on more complex jobs where understanding your wants and needs makes all the difference.

"Great. Attentive, careful, and professional. Helpful suggestions, and thorough. His estimate on drying times for the carpets was a bit overly optimistic. But, to be fair, it rained and was much cooler than usual the day he came. Hadn’t rained for months before he came. Easily likeable guy, nice to do business with. Definetly recommend."

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

"Mike cleaned our carpets in our home in Bend. He was able to remov some old water stains other cleaners had not been able to handle. Our stairs needed some additional work and he was prompt to come out and remedy the problem. I highly recommend his service."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

You can make your dining room look more expensive using one or more of several methods. If you're remodeling, you can consider raising the ceiling height, installing an elegant chandelier, or redoing the floor. For smaller renovations, consider changing the paint color to a deep and rich tone, such as burgundy or emerald. You can also swap out the table and chairs to achieve a richer appearance.

Paying to reupholster a piece of furniture means you want to hire the right upholstery service, especially for a piece that’s expensive or carries a lot of sentimental value. In your search for the right upholstery company, be sure to:

  • Ask around to see if friends or family know of any upholsterers

  • Find reviews of the company or individual

  • Look at the photo gallery of their work to see if they work on furniture like yours and if you like their work

  • Check qualifications and references

  • Ask the upholstery service if they work on furniture like yours, what their schedule looks like, how they handle payments, and how long the job will take

Although it’s not standard, many upholstery professionals offer warranties on their workmanship, typically ranging from six months to several years. However, most warranties don't cover normal wear and tear, damage from spills and other accidents, or problems with the original furniture frame. Before starting your project, be sure to ask about warranty terms, what is covered, and any exclusions.

Costs depend on fabric choice, furniture size, cushioning, and labor. For significant projects, expect estimates between $350 and $1,200.

The average cost to reupholster a piece of furniture is around $720, with most projects falling in the $380 to $1,150 range. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors. These include the size and complexity of the furniture, the cost of the new fabric (which typically ranges from $50 to $70 per yard), and hourly labor rates (often $40 to $100 per hour). Additional factors that influence the price are the piece's current condition, its age, whether it needs other repairs, the number of pieces being reupholstered, and your geographic location.
